Hi all, I have kept this quiet up untill now. Myself and a few other volunteers over here have got together to set up a small rescue group for whippets in Southern Ireland. We think we will be calling ourselves Whippet Rescue Ireland and we are in the process of setting up a small website. We have one little girl in our care right now a very sweet brindle girl, she is our very first rescue. We will be needing whippet coats and collars, along with blankets and other stuff. If any of you have old coats or collars that you no longer use we would very much appreciate them. Any condition as long as they are functional. Please pm me if you have a coat or collar to spare and I will pm the address they can be sent to.

Thank you very much

Sarah

What a fantastic thing to do - loads of luck, I hope it all goes well :luck:

I'll have a look and see what I've got - I suspect all my spare coats will be too big for whippets but I might have some collars. Do you need leads as well?

Yes leads would be great too. Thankyou very much, I will pm you the address should you find anything you can spare.

Ok let me correct myself. Our first rescue is a HE not a SHE and he is mostly white with some fawn, not brindle as origionally thought, he is described as very sweet, I have not even seen him yet as he has gone straight into one of our foster homes. As soon as I can get a photo of him I will share it with you all. Thankyou

Well done, Lucy, and I wish you all the luck in the world to help these little whippets find their forever homes :luck:

Please PM me the address to send things to and I will certainly make sure I get plenty over to you, as and when it comes available :D

Hi Lucy, havn't much in the way of collars, may have a few puppy ones I can send, have a coat that Jane gave me for Star, which was a wee bit big on her but certainly saw us through a bit of weather. Now soonish, I might be getting some old towels, would they be of any use?

Hi,

I'm in Roscommon and I can make you some jackets and jumpers.

I use fleece and can run them up in 20 minutes or so. They are not as

fancy as shop bought ones but they do the job.

They are both wearing home made jackets

When I can get out of the house (3 inches of ice outside my house) to

get some fleece, I'll make you some.

Let me have an address to send them to.

Good Luck with your rehoming.

Thankyou Boothros, we are going to get the blankets locally as they would just cost too much to post, but thankyou, your old collar and coat would be very much appreciated. I will pm you the address, thankyou very much
