Thanks so much Karen xxx

Well I managed to get some photos of the little Rescue in our care, I am having to correct myself again on the sex, female as origionally stated, not male

Her name is now Winnie  She is mosly white with a bit of brindle. She is a whippet x. She is approx one or two years of age. By the looks of her she has lived outside for some time. She has a thick coat and you cant see from the photos just how truly skinny she is. I will update more on her personality in time. So far she is proving to be very sweet

Here she is :)

As you can see she has a few pressure sores

The vet thinks this is a bite wound

OMG The poor little thing!!

How can anybody let their dog get in that sort of state?

Thank goodness she is with you now, she will have a good life to look forward to.

Well done to all involved in the rescue of this little girl.

Maybe soon we can see a bit of life come back into those sad eyes.

Karen

Bloody Hell look at the state of her :(

Looking forward to seeing what some TLC will

do for poor Winnie, bless her.

There are some shite people about isn't there.

Hi again,

Just a thought but do you have a paypal account?

I would like to make a small contribution towards your Vets bill for Winnie - I can't afford much - but every little helps!

She is obviously going to need a few Euros spending on her for the treatment, vaccinations, spaying, flea and worming treatment etc, etc,

I'm sure that others would like to help too.

If you don't have a PP account, I will put a cheque in the post the next time I can get out... (Payable to ?)

Karen

Just an update for you, its bad news Im afraid :( Winnie was taken to the vets today. She has to have surgery on her tail, she has a large wound and two inches of the bone is exposed  The vet feels it would be almost impossible to repair so she will have to have part of her tail amputated :(

As Whippet Rescue Ireland is just starting out we have not been able to generate donations yet. We could do with some help in covering the cost of the surgery, even 5 or 10 Euro would be appreciated. The vet has very kindly set up an account for us. If anyone would like to help by donating, you can indicate that the money is for Winnie from WRI and post their contributions by cheque or money order to:

Vet Care

9-10 Well Road

Portlaoise, County Laois

Ireland

Thankyou xxxxx

This is the latest report on Winnie from her foster mum:

Winnie is doing brilliant! Shes a real little character. Her tail is healing up great and i'm really pleased with the progress she's been making with the wound on her hindquarters. It starting to heal really well and shrink over. She loves to be fussed over. She's toilet trained. And LOVES a good body rub!! Shes putting on a nice bit of weight and looks a hell of a lot better now.

We should have new photos soon :)

Weathergirls your coats arrived today, thankyou so much, they will be put to good use  We still need sighthound collars so if any of you have any spare let me know.

Thanks

Sarah

p.s We hope to have photos of Winnie this week, she has been out walking in the park and met loads of people, she was really friendly and polite, very well behaved
