The handbag was there because her passport was in it, & she could keep an eye on it. I only found out because I put it on the ground to put my dog on the table. Big mistake.
Are you serious?? What happened?? I thought the table was for the dogs ... passports or not!!

Lovely pants ... very simular to what my family was wearing at my baptism in 1976!!

This is such a great thread. I have 1942,1943 dog world annuals so will have a try at scanning some of them tonight.

I must stop this NOW .... My reputation as a quiet, reserved , innocent will be in shatters :- " ..... It's late and I may have consumed a glass or two of vino :b ... so before it gets completely X- Rated , i'm off to bed .... WHERE no STUD or SPUNK will be involved !!!!!

Getting back to the actual thread of this post ''''

Back in the early '70's when we started showing whippets, we had a

blue dog by 'Martisell Mulberry,( who was a top producer especially

of Blues ) and a red fawn with black mask ( all 'Squirrelwood'

breeding ). Both did a fair amount of winning & both were about 17

ins tall. We then bought another boy who's mother was a full sister

to the fawn boy ... he was blue brindle and went to the shocking

height of ..... 19 ins .... he was a really good type, sound as a

pound and moved like a dream but never got looked at because of his

height !!! Wish I had him now ..... just shows how things change ??

Shape, height etc ... its what you get used to .... personally , I prefer the shape now ( generally ) just be watchfull of the height . Having said that ,I would never put a good dog down because of it's size ... Big or Small !!

Hope this works

That blue dog was out of Poltesco Goldcrest who produced some lovely puppies for me including your Rystone Baron Blue, he was a very correct sized dog and would look lost in todays show ring as would my R Blue Magpie!

I can't remember the red chaps name, didn't he come from Frances Charles? That was such a long time go and how the show ring has changed. Wa he called Duke?

The fawn dog was indeed Duke, ( Squirrelwood Summer Sun ) , out of Squirrelwood Seranata but I can't for the life of me remember who the sire was ... have to ask Mum. The brindle dog was Chatwig Chevron , out of Squirrelwood Seranade again can't remember the dog ....

Baron & Duke both lived to the grand old age of 18 !! havn't had another one live that long ... Maybe thats testement to todays modern feeding, breeding, innoculations etc .

Will have to find some old photo's , the only one I can find is me handling Duke at SKC 1979 , junior handling .... the 'hair' OMG I'm not posting that ..... I was 12 .. Bless !!
