Het Tessa, I hope you are bringing a copy of all these ad's to the Vic-Whippet show. It would make a good display.

I'll see what I can do Jon.

I have a dilemma, and would love to hear what others think. I can't make up my mind whether I should should laminate these ads or not.

The pro of laminating them, is that the ad's will be protected. And will be very easy to handle especially if I choose to take them outside my home.

The con is that they this will be so permanent.

You could try laminating just one side. :- "

really enjoyed reading through this thread, seeing all these old whippets, is really nice,

just had an idea for you, instead of laminating, if got 2 bits or perspex and bolted them together holding the adds inside, (somtimes get rare baseball/football cards stored in this sort of way)

im pretty sure glassiers would do this, and i cant imagine it costing to much. then you wouldnt be damaging the original piece

Dont laminate them, just keep the originals in plastic sleeves when taking them anywhere. otherwise they should probably be kept in acid free paper. You can get really good photocopies these days at the printers, you could then laminate the photocopies.

I've got a fantastic whippet cartoon dated March 31st 1894. It's in black and white but the paper is an off white so I got them to do colour photocopies of it. They look great, nearly as good as the original.

You want me to un-do the zip on my pants? 8)

Funny place to keep a 'Laminator' Cartman (w00t) (w00t)

Not a laminator!! It must be a Southern Hemisphere thing. A bit like your rhyming slang. "An eye out". Note only one eye. One eye, or here we call it "the one eyed trouser snake".

I've scrapbooked them Linda. I've got a really nice black leather album. I've used a Khaki mount behind the ad's and then put them onto a black background. I used little clear photo corner holders on the ad's so that they are not stuck down. I have then added (smallish) 5 gen pedigrees printed on fawn parchment. It looks really good, and it was so much better than working on the homework assignment, that I should have been doing
