Hi there,

I have received email from my friend this morning...see below - what awful experience!: London doggie lovers - be aware!

...just to let you know that Emmylou was attacked in Greenwich park at 5pm on sunday 16th March. She was surrounded by a pack of 2 rottweillers, 1 german shepherd and 2 fluffy mid size mongrels. The 2 rottwieilllers bit her and held her in a pincer movement. All dogs were with one women, and The women involved was with a friend, they are stout middle aged women, and one has a stick. ive seeen them in the park before. they didnt care at all,and the women refused to give her address, and was an unconcerned monster of a women. LOOK OUT FOR HER. DANGEROUS TO WHIPPETS. all of her dogs were off the lead, and she was totally unable to call them back. SHE COULDNT CARE LESS. I called the police, and as it is a civil matter, she got off.

Emmylou has been in the vets all day, and has had a major operation on her abdomen. She is bandaged all up and has a collar on. SHe will have stictches in for 2 weeks. PLEASE TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW ABOUT THESE 2 WOMEN. AND THEIR 5 DOGS. AND TO KEEP AWAY.

What a frightening experience for your friend, I hope her dog is OK :(

She should speak to the local Dog Warden, she might get a better response than from the police. If these dogs are running out of control and attacking other dogs the DW should be able to take action or at least give the owners a warning.

How awful, she should tell the Dog Warden, tell her to take lots of pictures of the wounds and to take the women to the small claims court for the bill.

OMG!! Poor Emmylou!! Do you think these two imbeciles are dog walkers? or are these dogs their own?

what ignorance to walk away and say or do nothing and there you are with the

trauma of Emmylou in the vets they should be strung up!!!

2 Rotties and a German shepherd off the lead is so irresponsable

Do try your local dog warden and tell him what has occurred

can you keep us posted on Emmylou hope she will be ok

sending you both lots of hugs :huggles: :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

That sends shivers down my spine. :( I'd hire a private detective or follow them home one day, find out where they live and send them the vet bill!!! Surely there must be a way to get them to pay (the small claims court as Juley suggests?). They need to suffer the consequences on this one otherwise it'll happen again. I'd even consider pinning posters up around the park showing the damage they did or taking the story to the local paper, with a description of the culprits (were there witnesses...wouldn't want to charged with slander mind!). Shame on them!!!

I don't usually get angry but this has really upset me today

thats awfull, hope shes ok. i dont understand why they wont do anything if that was a child the dogs would have been shot there and then. but because its another dog it ok???

thats wrong.

not that i would want the dogs shot as its the owners fault and they should take the blame.

i know if this had happened to me and we recognised the people i would be following them home to get there address and getting the police involved civil matter my a*** it assault.

What a disgrace. It must have been a terrifying experience. The law is a farce where dogs are concerned. The dog wardens took the woman to court, whos dog savaged my Whippet. They have new powers now,and are a lot more use than police.I would get in touch with them, there may have been other complaints about these women.

Amandaxx
