has a lovely new home for Christmas!!

Out walking the boys this morning on a lovely sunny, frosty morning we met a chap who I haven't seen for ages who used to have a lovely old black retired racing Greyhound. Obviously that one has gone to Rainbow Bridge, hence why I haven't seen him out and he now has a beautiful big blue ex-racer named Buddy. He had only picked him up yesterday from the Greyhound Trust so he was out in his brand new blue coat and matching collar and lead!! He was a bit bemused at first by the 5 boys all rushing up and saying hello as though he was a long lost friend/relative but he coped admirably and I am sure he will soon get used to them!!! Isn't it lovely how they recognise their own kind.

After we had gone our separate ways I got so emotional thinking that it was great that at least one ex-racer won't be spending Christmas and the rest of his life in kennels that I shed a few tears ............. my Whippets wondered what on earth was the matter with me, ungrateful creatures!! But, it made my day.

Awwwwww!  Wish you'd had your camera with you! :huggles:

I have a friend who's closely involved with the RGT and she and I and some other friends have made a calendar this year, proceeds of which are for buying treats for the dogs still in kennels over Christmas. :) We've raised £44 which should make their Christmas a little brighter.
