:( Been up all night with Ozzy again. Poor little lads got the runs again - big time! :x

From 10.30 last night to about 3am he was going about every half and hour (Im shattered!) good job Im not at work today -_-

Aw poor Ozzy and poor you. :( Gosh hes hardly got over the last episode...have you tried Tree barks powder from Dorwest...its great stuff for upset tummys. I keep it in always,

Hope hes feeling better soon. :huggles: :luck:

You will need to starve him for 24 hrs

then only feed some dry chicken and rice for a couple of days

Charcoal is good for a runny tummy my 2 will eat little bits of coal!!

Oh no.........poor Ozzy :( bless him  Get well soon Ozzy :huggles: :huggles:

Sorry to hear this. I've had problems with my two recently and have taken them off their normal moist pet food, because I suspect it may have something to do with their problems.

Definitely don't feed him for 24 hours to give his stomach a chance to settle. The stomach lining will be a bit sensitive and if you feed him again now, you'll enflame it further which can lead to colitis.

Once 24 hours are up, just give him a little bit of lightly cooked chicken and a tiny bit of rice. It does work honestly...even if you feel a bit cruel not feeding him in the mean time. Keep feeding him small meals of chicken and rice (not too much rice) at normal meal times, and then introduce his normal food again gradually once everything has settled, if you feel confident this is not the cause of the problem.

Hi Jan,

Funnily enough Ive just got some of that from Dorwest Herbs but didnt want to give him anything today - do I need to give that in food ( I havnt had time to read the label yet). Ive booked him into the vet cos hes been a bit sick and isnt his normal self :x . Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it :)

 Poor Ozzy :x & Poor you Tina :b , ...I'd agree with the great advice everyone has already given you, starve him for 24hrs then try introducing the chicken & rice.

Our Isaac seems to have a very sensitive stomach too, and we have definately found that a pinch of the Dorwest Herbs Tree Bark Powder sprinkled over his food everyday seems to help him, so try it with Ozzy...hopefully it'll keep him 'more solid' too!!

let us know how you get on at the vets & give poor Oz  a big (but gentle!!) hug :huggles: from me.

aww poor ozzy ,hope hes feeling better soon :huggles: :luck:

When Ozzy was ill last time I starved him for 24hrs and then gave him chicken n rice but it set him off again. The vet thinks he hasnt got over from last time although he had put weight on and been fine till yesterday :( so he is back on the anti biotics and the panacur granules. Vet said to give him live yoghurt this time on weetabix. his normal biscuits and no treats, poor Oz.

Here is a piccy of him before he was poorly in his christmas bow tie

Is the dog eating my mate, this 24 hr starving business doesnt work for all dogs, live yoghurt as your vet suggests, boiled rice, strain off all the starch, bit of chicken mixed in, boiled water chilled down, half spoonfull of honey, keep the dog warm, specially at night

:luck: :luck:

Poor little Ozzy, i have to say on the rare occasion when Finbarr has an upset tummy i have always given him a little saucer of live yogurt mixed with Dorwest Tree Bark he always recovers, i think maybe you should change the weetibix for some live yogurt at least until he feels better, keeping in mind that wheat itself can upset the stomach and the yogurt will help his gut with friendly bacteria especially now he is on antibiotics

That piccy of him is gorgeous :)) aawww don't like to think of him being ill

Get well soon Ozzy :huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

LOVE THE PICCY !!!

Live yoghurt is a good idea, we've used that in the past too  Hope Oz is feeling a little brighter today ;)

Hi Tina...poor Ozzy not feeling well again,as I said to you before I had two from our first litter like that and they seemed to always be having a bad tummy,so I became a bit of an expert on "runny tummys"! (w00t) I would definitely go for the live bio youghurt and I would give it to him continually (our lot all get 2 heaped teaspoons before they go to bed last thing at hinght and that seems to have done the trick) also boil some rice and strain off the starchy water and give him a few teaspoons of that (the thick starchy water) every hour or so,that should bind him,I also give mine scrambled egg..it is again good for binding them.

Lots of :huggles: to Ozzy and I hope he recovers quickly and enjoys his first Christmas!!

 :) Thanks everyone for the advice, Ozzy is fine is bombing about the house as usual today. He really likes the yoghurt!!! (w00t) and his tummy is much more settled.

I'm glad he's feeling better and you can both get some sleep :))

(w00t) Glad to hear that Ozzy is feeling better  ....it sounds as if he is back to his crazy self again!!! (w00t)

Don't let him too near the Xmas goodies over the next few weeks incase his poor tummy gets upset again :x .....

Aww so glad to hear that Ozzy is back to normal again (well as normal as Ozzy gets!!! ) my lot love the yoghurt too...they all stand in line before they go off to bed waiting for their spoonfuls of it! :D

No over-indulging then for Oz. :(
