The vet rang me today with the results of Ozzy's biopsy - he has a disease called Erythema Multiforme  She said that it is the mild form and is to do with his immune system and has no known cause. I have to continue with the antibiotics and will probably be given more when i go on monday. It can be caused by allergic reaction to medicine or even food supplements and such like but is quite rare. As yet she still isnt sure if this is what has caused the enzymes in his liver to be raised.

:luck: fingers crossed he improves soon

well I suppose at least you know something definite now....with the right treatment

Im sure they will soon have him on the mend hopefully... never heard ot it I must admit

Good luck Ozzy :luck: Get well soon

POOR OZZY, At least they now know what it is and hopefully can treat him

Get well soon little Ozzy :huggles: :huggles:   :luck: :luck:

 neither had I Janice - suppose we will just have to see what happens next

Is he on anti-epileptics? There's a link between them and erythema multiforme and I just wondered if this was the case as Ozzy had neurological trauma in the past?

Didn't like seeing a new topic about Ozzy having problems - poor lad's had more than his fair quota!!

Hope he's well and they get to the bottom of things soon :luck:

I'm glad that there is a classification for Ozzy's problem. at least you can treat with knowledge now

Good luck with your recovery, little Oz :huggles: xx

Big hugs to Ozzy again, hope they sort out a good treatment plan for the gorgeous little man xxx

Did your vet give you a prognosis?
She said he should be ok, but there are secondary infections which is why he is still on the antibiotics. He has been on them for a while now - which I dont like but if he needs them... I think it just wait and see

I hope you get it sorted now you know what it is and Ozzy is back to normal :))

Hope Ozzy will get better soon now you have a diagnosis. Do you think this disease caused his bad eyes too?

Aaaaw bless his little heart - Lucy, Tara and Penny send big licks and hope he's back on the mend soon. Keep us updated Tina.

Clare x :luck:

They just dont know really  Ive got to take him back on monday and no doubt the vet will tell me more then - if she can!! so far our Ozzy has been a medical phenomenon :b :-

Poor Ozzy & You have really been thru the wringer,I'm hoping that he wont have to be on the anti-B's too much longer and that your vet is able to get this under control. At least it does give you a bit of peace of mind now that you can put a name to this.

Love & Licks to Ozzy I'm sure he'll be back on the mend in no time. xx

The only reason I ask is that Erythema Multiforme minor is not too serious but if it is the major type, it can be a more severe reactions to medications rather than infection. Maybe worth asking your vet.

She did say she thought it was the mild version but that we need to keep an eye on him. He is eating well (a bit too well, as usual ;) ) and he is playing in his Ozzy fashion. He is in tomorrow morning for his stitches out as I couldnt get there today (flat tyre  ) Ill ask more then  I googled it and completely baffled myself :b
