Last year we went on holiday to Wales & in a gallery saw a really nice print by Mick Cawston, but I didn't like the frame it was in. The price was £53 so we didn't buy it as about £20 of that was for the crappy frame. I thought it would be dead easy to find the same print & get a nicer frame for it. Well I've looked everywhere & couldn't find it but at Crufts on Thursday I managed to get it :D

The dog in the pic is the spitting image of our Scrumpy & we've also got ferrets so it's a really ideal pic. I got it for £32 & today bought a frame & mount for £14 so it's worked out cheaper than the other one & is exactly as I want it :)

"The Workers Union" by Mick Cawston aka "Our Scrumpy"

ive a few of cawstons paintings....hes without doubt the bestest lurcher painter ever....and john tricket who specialises in gun-dogs comes a close second.

if you click on www.sallymitchell.com you can view loads more.

artistifyingly yours john

Beautiful picture, I love it. :)

Gonna check out that website now, thanks for the link, John.

That's a really gorgeous painting - no wonder you're pleased!

Mick Cawston was in a leage of his own, he was one of the few artist who could actually capture the spirit and soul of the subject he was painting. Shame he is no longer with us.

Stormydog can paint a fair picture himself...i have a head portrait of one my dogs done by stormydog signed, framed and all, but i reckon he's a bit of a perv and normally paints pic of naked women at one of those nights were a group of pervs get together and pay some poor girl 10 bob while they all google over her with brush strokes (w00t)

 it! its an eye catching print alright

nice 1

It is a fantastic picture, and one I've not seen before.

I have a couple of Cawston prints as I think his paintings are second to none.

He died at the end of last year, which was very sad as he wasn't old. :(
