We couldn't wait to take Ziggy on his first long walk the weekend before last. Although only 4.5 months then we thought one longish walk wouldn't hurt as we have been careful not to overdo things because of looking after young bones/muscles.

We've been walking the 100 mile Leicestershire Round in small sections sporadically over the last four years or so (dogless) and completed another section of about 5 miles this time with Ziggy and it was so much more fun. :D :D We didn't even have to bribe the boys to come with us this time.

Ooh, he's lovely. How do you manage stiles?? We've had to give up on the Round because of all the stiles - a bit complicated with 2 gh's!

Stiles aren't too bad with a young whippet at present because he can either fit through the gap at the bottom (if there is one) or he's light and small enough to be carried over though you need someone the other side to help. I don't know what you'd do on your own and with a bigger dog they would be nigh impossible. :(

Ziggy looks lovely, so much like Milo just a different shade.

Looks like you had a great walk, its amazing how fast they go isn't it even at such a young age.

How is Ziggy with other dogs?

Milo unfortunately seems to keep getting bowled over by big black labradors whenever we go out  ... must be the popular dog in our area. Today we met a 4 month old Newfoundland/St Bernard cross which really gave him a fright when it tried to play (w00t)

Ziggy loves to play with other dogs and so far has only been bowled over by a border collie. Some dogs don't know what to make of him as he hares around like a loony  He's also not very good on recall when he's in the middle of a good game.

Ziggy is looking just lovely  I love his colouring (am I right in thinking hes one out of Flynn's litter )

Just a word of caution for Ziggy and Milo, please be very careful not to let them get bowled over by big heavy dogs, back and leg injuries can so easily be caused by this happening which will take months and months to heal.
