i carnt believe the royal mails gone on strike today

ive just bought my canon 40d and its been posted out to me today at 1.15pm,i paid for next day delivery and now theyve gone on strike so dont know when i will get it .

wonder why they took special delivery when they must have known they might not be able to honour it :rant:

You might just get it, a lot of the managers where i work (cheltenham) take out special delivery items, so you may jsut be lucky

certainly round here the Post offices get cleared once a day by the managers, :thumbsup: don't know that they are delivering SD items though :unsure:

I ordered some craft things from a shop in Edninburgh yesterday. They e-mailed me today to say they had been dispatched. I was just thinking to myself that it would be end of next week before I got them when I'd noticed that they have sent them with a courier. Maybe others will have made alternative arrangements too.

it's the post offices that are accepting SD items,

Post office and Royal mail, though linked, are different companies,

the people in the majority of post offices are self employed and don't get a wage as such so won't turn away bread and butter, they should however stress to anyone purchasing SD items that they are not next day guaranteed

Last time they had a strike I had just ordered a bed off Nicky, she paid for special delivery .............. It took TWO WEEKS to get to me cos of the backlog of the strike :rant: :rant: :rant: so annoying :angry:

I was gutted when I heard it on the news this morning, Im waiting to hear if Ive got a job interview AND its my birthday on Sunday so no cards for me this year

snap we just ordered snuggle sack off nicky pigging strike gggrrrrr told phoebe she would have her new bed this wk.end isnt it always the way lol .......it never rains but it pours!!! actually it better not pour we are awaiting phoebes new coat through the post too lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

just been on the royal mail website to track my item and they have updated it and its saying my item will be delivered today :wacko: ,so dont know if thats a standard statement or what :blink: .

Hopefully this dispute will be settled quickly. We send out a lot of mail order and occasionally have used couriers but I have never had any problems with Royal Mail and no other provider gets anywhere near their services.

From what I saw on the news anything posted yesterday may not reach the destination by next Thursday.... :angry: :angry: The post is bad enough without this....

Im awaiting a snuggle sack too from Nicky and a whippy coat from Jok.

Just received a parcel for my hubby from DHL...the guy says they are doing most of the work for them at the moment ...

OH's firm have just sacked Parcelforce in favour of DHL because of the high charges..
