It's been 3 weeks since Poacher had her x-rays and started on her physiotherapy programme :)

I'm pleased to report that she had her first check-up tonight and Sandra, the vet, is over the moon with her progress. She is building muscle again and the stifle joint is far more stable although still more "wobbley" than a normal joint would be. The joint should regain total stability once it has strengthened, it just needs time  She is very impressed with Poacher's grit and determination and has said that she can now start going off lead again :D

I have to keep a careful watch that she continues to use the bad leg as that is the best way for her to recover so if she starts to hop then she has to go back on the lead

Her next check up is on 22nd December ............ hopefully it will be her last and that will be a great Christmas pressie

Great new about Poacher  Im sure she will have a great time getting to run around with the rest of your gang :huggles:

Thanks everyone :D I have Friday earmarked for her first free-run

I shall let her have a quiet go round the field with Jinny first - don't think

she's ready for the full-on assault that is Sox, Irie and Rosie (w00t)

If it stops raining I may even be able to get a few pics or a video of her

She has made such fantastic progress so quickly.

I bet it will be a nerve wracking moment letting her off the lead for the first time. I was terrified the first time I let Diego run for the first time after his injury, but he was just fine.

It will be great when you can get her down the hydro pool too - that has made the world of difference to D's rehabilitation I couldn't recommend more.
