There have been quite a few suggestions for a new name for Poacher and I've been having a think about it (w00t)

I don't want to change the sound of her name so I thought I would check the translation of Pocha in spanish and italian.

In Italian Pocha means "little" or "small"

In Spanish Pocha means "haricot bean"

Now, Poacher isn't very small so the Italian option isn't quite accurate but ...... a haricot bean, mmmmm :- " Why, you may ask, would I even think of calling my beautiful girlie after a haricot bean????

Easy! .......... I went outside this afternoon with the gang and left Pocha safely indoors. Or so I thought

I had walked down to the stable yard and turned round to find a very happy whippy running towards me (on three legs!) (w00t)

I puzzled over how she had got out through two closed doors as I carried her back to the house. I was astounded when I realised that she had jumped up onto the kitchen worksurface and pushed the window open wide enough to jump out and set herself free!!!! (w00t)

And this is a girl with a badly injured hind leg!!!!!!!!!!! What an athlete she must be

So is she to be A Haricot Jumping Bean?????

seems she does jane (w00t) you know what they say where theres a will theres a way :teehee:

awww she just wonted to be with you :huggles:

Bless her little heart

I think she's answered your question herself Jane.

You might just as well call her Beanie!!!!!!!!!!!

it's mazing what a whippet can and will do if mind set on something

bless her

Bet she'd answer to anything you called anyway Jane :huggles: I quite liked Poacher though - thought it sounded cheeky - and whippets are certainly that
