There is no excuse for William looking like that! He's white for goodness sake - how could they not see his wounds? And that weight loss is horrifying! :( You must have been so upset when you saw him and the others.

:huggles: :huggles: :huggles: :huggles: to all of you.

That's shocking, poor William.

Very nasty sores , looks like a deep hole on both legs, is that his bone visible in the wound. The kennel people have been very negligent and have not given proper care at all. If he was very fretful and caused pressure sores by continually pacing, the owners should have taken steps to prevent his injuries.

For them to not even notice his wounds just shows how incompetent they are.

Hope he makes a good and speedy recovery. :luck:

I have been using these kennels for years and have happily recomemnded them to anyone .I have even had a litter of GSD pups born there when she went into welp early they couldn't do enough for her she had eggs milk blankets heat lamps nothing was to much trouble .We knew she was expecting and the pups were due wel after we got back they had to go into kennels for a few days so she went into the isolation block with a masive outdoor run.

My dogs love the woman who runs them and happily go in with her to the extent that at christmas William went to her and when i picked him up she opened his run door he went straight past me to her for a fuss then looked at me as if to say 'what do you want'

What happened this time we will never know the whippets are now fine and back to normal Wiliam is happy again the wounds are looking a lot better and the diarreah is coming and going but is getting better to

I have spoke to the woman and they are going to pay the vets bill she uses the same vet as me so she will and I also asked her about Bandits cuts She said he got a bit agressive towards the dog in the next kennel and was jumpimg at the bars having a go at it .This I have excepted as the reason for his cuts as both my bitches are due in season soon and he does get very protective of her even with my own males.

Maybe it would be a good idea to have a list of GOOD kennels in the FAQ section.  Any person well known here, who had a very positive experience could list the kennels there.  :)
Great idea. I'll start it now

Poor William, I myself put my dogs in kennels over christmas to visit relatives, and when i picked them up i thought that they had brought the wrong dogs out they had lost so much weight, it was very upsetting and took a couple of months to get the weight back on. the vet was shocked also, having said all this they were looked after cos they were fine with the people there and they must have just pined, doesnt make it any less distressing when you pick them up after a week and you dont recognise them.

Im looking for a holiday at the mo that can accomodate 2 dogs in this country at the moment any suggestions?
