the others seem ok their wounds are superficial but will speak to my vet on monday he is away at the moment he'll give me antibiotics for them to I'm bathing them and keeping a close eye on them though

I would threaten to sue them - its disgraceful - they should be shut down. Hope there getting back to there old selves soon Helen - must have been a massive shock when you saw their condition.

Poor poor William how have they explained them helen
she says she hadn't seen them but then said they were probably preasure sores

Hadn't seem them?! How the hell could you have missed them!? That is ridiculous. They should never be in care of animals if they end up in that state! Once again Helen I hope that they are ok :huggles:

Sorry to see that Helen, thats not right,i`d go and see a good solicitor over that, see what he says, they should be closed down...the barstewards.

Heres to a speedy recovery!

how shocking to come back and see your dogs in that condition, poor poor things.

Helen I'm really sorry this has happened to you.

Poor William..he looks terrible....they definitely look like pressure sores,i've picked up enough rescues from kennels with the same wounds. It's totally inexcusable for them not to have noticed the wounds.

Time to find a different kennels me thinks.

So far i've resisted putting my dogs in kennels and now i don't think i ever could.

Give William lots of cuddles from me and mine and keep us updated, hope they all make a speedy recovery.

(w00t) OMG, I did not expect anything as bad as this. How long have they been there? The sore looks like an abscess that burst. That should have been treated. Did you see the kennel runs? There should not be anything sharp for the dogs to injure themselves. If your dogs have not had problems being left before i would report these people. I do not know how are boarding kennels controlled in UK, here they have to have a permit issued by the local council, which sends an inspector without notice in regular intervals. :luck: :luck: :luck:

That is horrifying- have you reported the kennels to the RSPCA?

Poor poor William and co :(

:huggles: :huggles: :huggles:

I am really shocked at poor William :( - as people have said, some dogs lose weight even in the best of kennels whatever the owner does, but not even to have noticed those sores is absolutely unforgiveable. :(

Hope he gets better very soon at home with lots of TLC from you. :luck:

The good news is William seems to be a lot better today He seems a lot brighter and hapier in himself. The wounds don't look so swollen and he stood patiently whilst I bathed them the diareah(sp) seems to have dried up and he is now on his favourite food it might not be approved dog food but William loves it and when we have stuggled to get weight on him for Crufts we deiscovered by accident he had a passion for

Totally unaccpetable. Yes some dogs Kennel walk, GSDs are notorious for that. It looks to me as if he has been lying out in the run alot in which case with the weather as it has been why couldnt they put a bed out there for him to lie on.

If they are pressure sores then shame on her for not providing enough bedding in the first place

Absolutly disgusting Helen, Glad William is feeling a bit better, :huggles: Hope the others are ok too, cant believe they didnt see the state they where in. Hope they do the decent thing and pay your vet bills for you.

Pressure sores are one thing, they can happen to kenneled dogs that persist on lying on concrete, but to allow them to get infected is totally unacceptable !!!

this lady had a duty of care to your dogs and she failed them miserably, running a boarding kennels is not just lobbing some food in for them and then picking up after them, it is, or at least it should be a whole lot more. at the very very least a dog should be ''looked over'' once a day.

To "not see" sores like that on a short coated white dog is appaling!

I am stunned. That is appalling to hand back dogs in that condition. I cannot think of any reason that would excuse their condition.

On a happier note, finally, have finished Owen's collar today. Will be posted on Monday. :)

Poor William, I'm so pleased he seems better today and let him have his lamb and dumplings, he deserves them.

A few weeks ago my father died, we took Sparky up to Lancashire with us, we decided it was best to have Sparky cared for on the day of the funeral by a local boarding kennel, I rang and explained the reason for asking if they could have him for just one night and day. The kennel owner gave me his mobile number and told me to ring when we got there whatever the time, it didn't matter. We arrived a bit late, rang the number and the gentlemen immediately came and opened the gates for us, he then settled Sparky into a kennel and even though we had taken his bed he had a lovely bed waiting for him. We then talked about what food he ate and he said not to worry he would find something to tempt him. We went to collect him at 5pm the next day and out bounced Sparky, he had given him tripe to eat which he had wolfed down and he had had a great time just watching all the other dogs. Then we were told there would be no charge. I was quite humbled by this. On our way out there was a lady sitting in a kennel with a dog, he explained that was his wife, he didn't always keep her in a kennel but a little daxie was finding it all a bit traumatic so she was trying to calm him and give him some TLC. We were completely blown away by these people, what a shame there are such extremes.

You have to complain Helen because people should not take on the responsibility of other peoples pets and treat them so poorly, Luv You William

Jenny
