Ellie didnt have a dressing when she was spayed, just stitches. I would have thought it would be better for air to get to the stitches to help the wound dry out. I guess it is there for a reason though - why not give the vet a ring just to check?

Depends what the dressing is Nicky - some are special pads to draw out any gunk - ring your vet, they'll tell you!

Oh no I hope you managed to get it off ok. I got one stuck on Molly a bit ago, I was trying to ease it off bit by bit but in the end I thought that perhaps it would hurt less if I just ripped it off  WARNING - DONT DO IT!!!! It must've really hurt because she turned around and nipped me! Poor little Moll :( she forgave me straight away though and I think she was glad to have the dressing off because minutes later she was prancing around again :huggles:

non of mine have ever had a dressing on. I would just phone the vts and ask them

wendy

wierd none of my fosters ever had dressings either. How does the wound look? It should heal better now the air can get at it.
