Ellie didnt have a dressing when she was spayed, just stitches. I would have thought it would be better for air to get to the stitches to help the wound dry out. I guess it is there for a reason though - why not give the vet a ring just to check?nicky12 said:anybody know when the dressing on poppys wound needs to be taken off or does it stay on till stitches come out ,if so seems long time with same dressing on 10days
Oh no I hope you managed to get it off ok. I got one stuck on Molly a bit ago, I was trying to ease it off bit by bit but in the end I thought that perhaps it would hurt less if I just ripped it off WARNING - DONT DO IT!!!! It must've really hurt because she turned around and nipped me! Poor little Moll she forgave me straight away though and I think she was glad to have the dressing off because minutes later she was prancing around again :huggles:nicky12 said::angry: flipping hell its like its held on with bloody super glue iv soaked all around the edges and a little has come away but im scared i may hurt her il try do bit at time :sweating:
I know we must have had bitches done from 8 or 9 differnt vets with no dressing the only differnce was the number of stiches 1 vet could do it with just 2 stiches and it allways heald the best so thats were i take any of mine that we get done.whippetwise said:wierd none of my fosters ever had dressings either.
