Hi Irene,

Congratulations on the forthcoming additions to the family. It is allways hard when you start out on this breeding game. There are so many things you have to think of. Like Jax and a few others have mentioned, as a breeder I think one must have certain rules to follow and these are all written down by the Kennel Club. Help to your buyers is upmost, and the health of the puppy is foremost. If anything goes wrong I allways have a policy to take back the puppy. As for price well that is a personal thing, I would never charge more for some puppies at 12 weeks old because they look like they have potential. I charge one price for all, if I charge anything at all. This upsets some big breeders but that's just me. If you are bringing up a litter right it does cost a fortune and I don't think we ever get what we put in back.

Good luck and one last thing The new home is more important than the price.

Mike

Did you come down to the Northern to race and camp a few years ago

No, Paula, the only racing ive ever been to is at Kincardine Bridge on a Sunday

Irene

Hi Mike,

You are right, it is hard and the new home is more important than the price. Moonlight's Dancers' (sire) owners Maggie & Graham are keeping me right.

sorry ignore that last message,  i dont quite know how to work this thing.  I  was only looking for a general idea of the prices of pups, im not looking to make a profit.   I keep my whippet jess as a pet and this will be her first litter as well as mine.  she is racing bred and has a few champions in her pedigreel.  I am also keeping a pup for company for jess.
Irene

Just out of interest who are her parents ?? .......and whos the sire ????

I sold my racing bred litter for £350 each ......this included them having been home checked by my vet, full vets health check, dew clawed also by my vet, tattooed, Kennel club reg, wormed, home reared correctly, printed pedigree etc .....plus a supply of food (Royal Canin), their own toy, lead etc .........They were also virtually house trained and knew their own names befor they left :) .........Its hard work but worth it ......... :luck: Jess ........Hannah.

Now theres a dog owner and lover if ever i saw one

keith

I haven't been for ages.... Unfortunately I'm coughing and spluttering and not feeling too great or I would go tomorrow. And I'll need to get my husband to drive me up cos I'm not sure where I'm going.

LOL .....No I'm just mad  .........Best to do all you can for puppies that you have bred in my opinion though, theres too many puppy farmers out there looking for a quick cash injection :(

On another note ......... Irene your girl carries her Aunty Zaras and Grandad Rileys colouring .........Julia will be pleased to hear her lines carrying on again in her Zaras brother .......loads of :luck: :luck: :luck: with the pups and we will need photos  Hannah.
