Everything crossed here for poor Jacki :luck: Hope she's back with those lovely pups soon.

Hi Griff

I'm sure the vets will get her back home well soon. Good luck with pups.

Cheers

Poor Jackie, for her speedy recovery, hope she's soon home and well enough to feed her pups again.

:huggles: to you all

poor Jacki, i hope she is home soon with her babies

All the best to Jacki from all of us here

Hang in there Parnew :huggles:

Thanks very much for the lovely posts over night, just spoke with the vets and Jacki had a good night and is very bright and looking for her pups, they will make a decision in the next hour whether to desex her or treat her with drugs.

They have done well over night and the early morning feed is over. Maggie has been just great with the washing up.

aww that's good to hear, Jacki will be wondering what's happening to her and where all her pups are, if she gets treated with medicine can she still feed her pups ?

I'm not sure Julie, but I'm treating the pups anyway just to cover them from infection.

What a worrying time for you, and for poor Jacki- hope she is soon back with her babies :luck:

Glad that auntie Maggie is helping with cleaning duties :huggles:

Best wishes from all your country cousins here in ireland. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

Love Claire & Viv

It's great news, Jacki will be home at lunch time, the vet said that medical treatment is the way to go, as Jacki responded to the early treatment they said this was the key for her to get over this set back.

 That is wonderful news :D

Will she be able to feed the pups or would the medication come through her milk and be detrimental to them? It is a large litter to handfeed.

Best wishes :luck: :luck: :luck:

Great to hear things are looking good Griff. Grab some plain acidopholus/bifidus yoghurt from the supermarket and give the babies a teaspoon full a couple of times a day. This will help keep their tummies balanced while mum is on antibiotics. If they are drinking you should be able to get them to take little bits off a spoon or get them to suck it off your fingers.

When I had a girl with mastitis on high doses of antibiotics we did this and pups didn't miss a beat nor did they get runny poo.

Lisa (and Electra who is now not impressed at being separated from her babies)

Glad to hear Jacki is home with you, all the very best with her recovery. :luck: If you weren't so far away I would have been happy to take a shift bottle feeding those lovely puppies.

Fingers are crossed that all goes well from now on.
