We went to Raby Castle on sat. night / sunday for the racing and showing and had a really good weekend. We met up with friends old & new most notably Sue ( pepa) & Gary, really nice to meet you both at last and of course Jade got to meet her brother Pagan for the first time since they came over here. She wasn't too impressed at first but warmed to him finally!! She really would love to see her mum Slip again and Flynn & Lily and of course Sarah ( Painted Lady) because without her they would not be over here.
What can I say, we had a fantastic day, Jade raced in the 1,000 guineas qualifier and got reserve in the final, just getting beaten in the end by the dog she beat in the semi. We entered her in the over 23" 100 yards dash and to our amazement she stormed down the track with a time of 4.94 secs. She won a trophy for that and we were so proud, her uncle Colt came second with 4.98 secs the first 2 dogs this year to break 5 secs in the Lurcherworld 100 yds Dash, so we were informed. She also won the judges choice trophy in the showing and Rio won Champion pup.
On Saturday her brother Pagan won the 1,000 guineas race so they both did well. Stormydogs China won the under 23" 100 yd. dash on Saturday, Sammy Bowers Lady won chase the bunny on Sat. and under 23" 100 yd. dash on Sunday.
Met 2 of the pups out of Colt, Rebel & Polo and they are lovely.
Finally we would just like to thank Geoff and the crew of Lurcherworld for making us so welcome and for a realy good day and especially to Gary for the barbeque on Sat. night.
