Hi Mark.. Just to clarify what this race is about.. You said the only dog of mine you haven't beaten yet racing is Ellie because you haven't had the chance to race her. Well the chance has been given to you but you seem to be avoiding the challenge. If you do not respond to the challenge of ELLIE RACING ANY OF YOUR DOGS OVER ANY DISTANCE  I will consider the challenge forfeited and will appriciate you not bringing Ellie's name into any further discussions (this is in reference to all the comments you made about her in the previous topics). I will just now confirm that Ellie is 24in. As far as racing Ash is concerned.. he is still recovering full fitness after having a retained abdominal testicle surgically removed in November and he will be fit to race you over any distance in about another months time. As previously mentioned Clio was never my dog so I would appriciate you not suggesting she was. Cheers. Mike

hi mike hope ash fully recoverers, now iam up for that race with him against the black dog cat and just to let rodders know he is 24 inch and cat is under 22 but hey no excuses, mike if you read back ellie is the only dog apart from mine i have praiced and thats good comin from me, now i think fair that we put a few things into the competion to make it worth while as ellie is fast in a straight line but shes a good 2 inch taller then cat and 4 inch kit its like me sayin lets have a wager on a 50 yard dash as well, now cleo you entered her at every show so whys she now not yours?????????.I DONT THINK YOU SHOULD HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ANY WAGER MIKE AS YOU SAID ON THIS FORUM MARKS DOGS ARE AVERAGE, and as i replied there must be some shit dogs in the country then now lets sort the competion, out take care to u and your dogs mark

Glad to see your up for a bit of competition Mark. :thumbsup: I think its only fair to race under against under,and as far as I understand it Ellie is Mikes under 23",and seeing as the dogs haven't raced each other before the event should be a good crowd puller.Look forward to hearing when the big race will be,and over what distance.May I suggest 350yds if you can't decide on 3 or 400yds karen

well i came back on the internet to answer the big mouth who started this RACE thread and guess what no responce, and since mine are all under 23 inch and mike has one he races under 23 inch lets put money on that  race anyone can take his bet lets say 500 over 400 yards everybody who knows me knows iam good for it, and to people on here on about good dog men a good dog man isnt someone who just races and shows his dogs in the summer months, he is a person who works his dogs day and night, spends hours on hours with them,also a person who gets rid of there dogs cause they dont win at a race are dont show well thats not a good dog man either and since ive been doing the shows i have never seen as many dogs in vans and trailors owned by one person never in the 40 yrs of owning lurchers have i seen so many dogs going to waiste as i did last year,then most of them people will have new dogs this year as there dog didnt make the show grade are wasnt fast enough to beat a pup, well a lurcher is bred for somthing else i suggest that some of you should get out and do with your dog what it is bred for and mike no offence to you but my average dogs as you put it will race cleo and ash but ash is 24 inch when your ready take care mark

i never offered this race and if i was to i would of done it to mike on the quiet he has 3 dogs one is 4 inch taller then mine thats ellie so why would i ffer a race against such a good dog but you lot went on about how good his dogs are now ive told you my conditions now shut up are put up cleo is under and ash is 24 inch there the 2 in a straight race are ellie in a 50 metre dash and we will do sim as thats my main interest are we can do a points system as it could be for money. now who did get someone to put this up MIKE was it les cause who ever started this thread has gone all quiet and tom it says race it doesnt say against which dog

Come on Lads.

you've all had your postering ect lets have a date/venue.

Can I suggest the Lurcher Championships just outside Helston in the summer (August as i'm down there then) this would give the owners chance to get their dogs schooled for what ever runs are agreed. ie: lure coursing, long jump ect ect.

if the guy is willing to put on a 300m race, and has named the dogs which all the arguing has been about, surely the two competitors should agree to the challenge that has been put forward? that way no one has an advantage by choosing distances etc

Not a clue? i've done a little mod stuff but it's not given the identity of Barneyboy away.

Right update, ive spoken to mikes best mate as he phoned me and ive agreed to two races as a dogs name was never mentioned its kit 19 against cleo 22inch and cat 22 and ash 24 i think thats fair 2 purpose bred workin dogs against 2 purpose bred racin dogs i am not going to stay and repeat myself thats my terms as ellie is over 24 and she wasnt mentioned as my dogs are more for sim and hurdles with a bit of longjump and i have dropped them
