That might be the only thing that prevented me from doing it - storage! I have a tiny freezer and it's always a struggle just fitting my own stuff in. And I have no space for another freezer unfortunately. I don't really want to be getting the food more often than once per month either, I really like to know that I'm sorted for a while otherwise it's just another thing to constantly think about. But I will still look into this - perhaps there are ways around it.

Freezer space can be an issue. Do you get your own groceries from a local supermarket, or do you have a butcher's you use? You should be able to put together a perfectly good raw diet with supermarket food alone, using chicken wings or lamb ribs for the bone component. It would work out a little more expensive but with a small dog shouldn't break the bank. Then you could buy it weekly and take advantage of any offers - the diet doesn't need to be balanced on a daily or even weekly basis.

For back-up, Gentle dog food is meant to be very compatible with a raw diet: Gentle Dog Food, Natural Dog Food In fact it might be worth a try anyway as it is supposed to be gentle on tums! (I haven't tried it, but @JoanneF rates it highly.)

Yes, we travel a lot so an entirely raw diet isn't convenient for us. So we feed some raw and some Gentle which is formulated to be compatible with a raw diet. That said, that's not the only reason for choosing it - we feed it because my rather fussy dog actually likes it. He will do tricks for it like a treat reward. So that, and its 4.8 out of 5 score on the independent review site www.allaboutdogfood.co.uk makes it a good choice for us. Oh, and it gets delivered free ...

All great ideas, thanks both! I'm writing all this down...
