Awwww lovely little boy   I know they need 2 to show but I for one am glad they brought him back if they could part with him just because one of his testicles has left home, I would have been madly in love with him by now, here's hoping he gets a lovely forever pet home :huggles: :huggles:

Absolutely gorgeous little pup - wish I could have him, but it's all I can do to cope with my 9 month old whippet at the moment. Have had him a month only, but he was untrained and he has wrecked the house and garden! He also has an undescended testicle and is booked for castration week after next mainly because of danger of cancer in undescended one. I am worried though as he seems to have an irregular heart beat - does anyone know if this is common in whippets? We had a whippet X who had the same thing (irregular heartbeat, not undescended testicle!!) but she lived to the ripe old age of at least 16.

I don't think you'll have any trouble finding a pet home for Richie - he is so sweet and handsome.

He looks like a sweet happy little lad to me!    I agree with Lesley in that it wouldn't have made any difference to me either!

good grief! how on earth could anyone give him back? I can tell you now, if i'd cuddled that little sweetie for more than a few minutes he'd be staying - sadly i know what my partner's response would be if i asked........... :(

I think it's one of the very best things about responsible breeders though - that they'll always take a dog back.

I was very careful to make sure that if Audrey didn't take to Digit, that he would be welcome to go back - any of course his breeder was happy to give this assurance

The only reason i'd ever return a dog (or any animal) is that they didn't get on with those already established in the household - i have a 'last in, first out' policy! very 1970's union lol!

People don't always realise the worth of the 'aftersales service' they get from responsible breeders - i think if they did, the bargain fees charged by puppy farms wouldn't seem such a good deal

I'm sure you'll find a good home for him soon Jax

i endorse everything youve saidf urchin,im afraid i couldnt part with that little lamb

Like so many of you I can't believe that someone could return such a cutie after 4 weeks :(

There's no way I would have returned my boys after a day let alone 4 weeks! I simply couldn't imagine life without them.

On that basis I'm pleased that you have got him back as he deserves a better home than that!!!

You shouldn't have too much trouble rehoming him as he really is a sweetheart, if that's what you deside to do.

Good luck :luck:

This little puppy really dosnt realise hes supposed to be a little bit scared of the `big ` boys and girls , hes jumped on Gt Gran ma Mayzee ( NOT a good idea  ) Chases India and Harvee round  . poor India thought `great ,someone smaller than me ` wrong , Richee dosnt know that

He had had his name changed to SOX  , but he still comes to Richee and I think it suits him better . .

At the moment hes fast asleep on OH knee  Its the first sleep hes had since we got home as we`ve done a bit of gardening too  . On the plus side he seems to be house trained too :luck:

I hope he dosnt stay too long , cos some of you lot know what Im like :b Sod the OH  :- "

I wonder if Buffee realises who he is ?

Thanks for the positve comment s. but I stand by what i say , and any pup bought from me is always welcomed back ( unless for some reason its impossible to have them here ) even then I will do my best to rehome . as I did with Maddie and whippet man ( Henry ) . Sometimes its better all round , esp , for the dog ,if you can rehome from one home to another without coming back to the breeder . But in this case I wanted to see what condition he was in For me , he is a tad light . but that could just be the long journey hes had . He can certainly eat well *

well done you for having him back  hope he finds a home soon :luck: ...hes gorgeous

Glad he is in another hemisphere Jax, I think he is gorgeous

Why oh why do people have thier dogs inoculated so early. Richee could hardly have been settled in which is stressfull as it is.

How many times do we have to hear that a puppy left a breeder with two testicles only to have one vanish a few weeks later.

If you dont want to use Homeopathy for goodness sake keep them indoors until they are 15 weeks old before you have them jabbed, specially if you want to show.

This always makes me so wild, the vets MUST KNOW this happens, the little tubes that the testicles travel freely up and down for a while become inflamed by the inoculation and the testicles which were there are retained. THEN they get you to have the retained on removed :- "

People should also perhaps not be in such a mad rush to show of the new puppy like its a bit of jewelery.

I do understand that people dont know and I may be being a little harsh but Im off on holiday now so wont have to read the answers and excuses :D :D

I did advice them to wait , and they have bred Rotties in the past so thought they would have known , But I know they were BOTH there when they took him . so Im thinking that must be the reason  Ruth who had Konna is a vet nurse and she said they Must have them at 8 weeks as they lose the immunity of leptosporosis after 3 days away from mum , so maybe they were worried about that

I didn't know that innoculating early could cause testicle retention. I don't think it's just a case of people just wanting to show off their pups as soon as possible. I personally think it's important for socialisation purposes that a pup is out and about before it gets too old. Not everyone has other dogs at home. Also, what's the chance of this happening, most people will have the pup vaccinated early and most don't end up with a retained testicle. Just putting another view across. :- "

i have never heard of early vaccination causing retained testicles????

personally i vaccinate at 8 and 12 weeks so i can get mine to puppy classes and start socialising as soon as possible...imo an unsociable dog is more of a problem than a retained testicle anyway

The post hasnt disappeard Mark

Richee definitely suite him better than Sox!!
