has he found a new home yet?

where abouts are you?

he is such a georgous dog and a loverly colour!

ohhhhh poor chap, well at the risk of upsetting folks it sounds as if its a good job you got him back. If folks can just take him and part with him so flippantly then he deserves a better home! I show (or did) to crufts level, and know that when you take on a dog you do so as a dog first and show accessory second, if the dog goes on to be good enough to show then consider yourself lucky, if not then you still have the best dog there is.... i wonder how other creatures are treated in the same home..... perhaps if they pull up lame at 18mths or develop an issue where showing cannot continue...... are they conveniently rehomed too?

Rant over. But i do wish folks would take off their "show goggles" and realise that the furry creature has right too.

Rants really is over now.

any news on little Richee?

AHHH he is absolutely gorgeous and am sure you won't have a problem rehoming him...

We had the same problem with Joshy He had two when we left the breeders admittedly we didn't buy him for showing ..pet only, so it wouldn't have made a difference to me, but then when he was about 20 weeks old realised he had then only got one, very strange where it disappeared too..... he is now 10 months old and still only has one, and are now planning to get him castrated as the vet wouldn't do it until after 10 months incase it did drop down.

but he didn't have his jabs until 12 and 16 weeks whereas Harley our eldest now 15 months had two fine ones and had his jabs at 8 and 12 weeks so I don't see how this can be the cause..... never mind it doesn't matter to me how many they have as long as they as happy and healthy with a loving family..... :huggles:

I didn't know that innoculating early could cause testicle retention.  I don't think it's just a case of people just wanting to show off their pups as soon as possible.  I personally think it's important for socialisation purposes that a pup is out and about before it gets too old.  Not everyone has other dogs at home.  Also, what's the chance of this happening, most people will have the pup vaccinated early and most don't end up with a retained testicle.  Just putting another view across. :- "
I have also never heard of any connection between retained testicles and vaccinations. Testicles should be down in scrotum within the first few weeks of the puppy's life - long time before the first vaccination. I have vaccinated every puppy I have ever bred at 6 weeks (that is the norm here) and let them go to their new homes at about 9 weeks. None of them have ever retracted their testes in these few weeks. However, one did so later on, and they had to be surgically removed when he was 12 months old. Unfortunately, the people did not tell me until after - I would have tried to bring them down, and hopefully saved the dog from an invasive op.

I have heard of pups pulling in there testicles if severely stressed (like being shipped a long distance), or if hit in the area.

In any case I would try to bring a testicle down manually whenever possible to avoid future problems.

Richee MIGHT be going to a new home on Sunday :( thats providing her referances check out . Ive got her vets details , they have 2 cavaliers and want a whippet as they have a friend with one and they all get on famously.

Me and Oh have really taken to him , hes already learnt the `routine `here and loves to be cuddled , wherever I am he isnt far behind , he loves playing tug with Harvee, India or any one who will play will do . or hes quite happy growling and ``killing `one of the `toys` we have scattered about the house ( or even a devil `slipper`  hes also been swimming in the pond

Phil says if they dont like him or come up to scratch on Sunday then he will take him to work every day as HIS dog What a shame he didnt say this when he had 2 Bl****dy testicles , then I could have shown him too
