:D Is there anyone on K9 who can give me details of ringcraft classes in the Hornchurch/Upminster?Brentwood/Romford area? I have pedigree racing whippets and would quite like to enter my 2 puppies in a show.

Oooh, so glad as they are gorgeous, really nice pups  I came home drooling after the open at Taunton :teehee:

I live miles away, so can't help with the classes, but I hope someone can give you some contact details as these two should be in the ring

I also need to find Ringcraft classes in East Yorkshire. If anyone reading this thread knows of any in my area I would be pleased to hear

:)) Hi Janis cannot help to far away but :luck: :luck: in your search they are so lovely you should show them

There is SWECA and I've copied the details here:

SWECA

South West Essex Canine Association was established in 1956 and holds ringcraft classes for Novice, Intermediate and Experienced dog handlers.

The classes are held every week on a Monday night between 8pm and 10pm at St Agnes Church Hall, Jutsums Lane, Romford, Essex. RM7 9HJ.

There is also one in Harold Wood on a Tuesday night and I did go there last year with my older dog, the only trouble is I don't know the name of the road.

If you want to PM I can have a look on google and see if I can find it. As I'm just about to start taking my pup to a ringcraft class it would be nice to see another whippy there.

 Thanks, that' really helpful. I've also had some PM replies so when I decide where to go first I'll let you know. :luck:

(w00t) My first ever ringcraft experience was GREAT!! Janet, nice to meet you and your handsome youngster, Jack  My puppy Frankia has not been impressed with other breeds when we've seen them at racing, and I was thrilled to see her behaviour in the hall last night. A brilliant way to socialise a puppy :D Looking forward to next Monday. By the way, Frankia found it a bit tiring and slept the rest of the night -_- like the angel she is!

Hi Janis I thought it was a really good club and everyone seemed really friendly. Nice to meet you both and to have someone else new to start with! Jack slept all night long on the pillow next to me without even stirring! See you next Monday.

I'd also like to show my 10month old pup but I can't find any ringcraft classes in my area (Mallow, Co. Cork).

Could anyone recommend a good book or DVD that could help?

I do practice stacking him and he will walk to heel (albeit on a tight lead) but he's still a bit boisterous.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Timmy
