Its been the worst day today, I know he's being collected for cremation so spent all morning at work crying cos I know that I will never, ever see him again for the rest of my life - too emtional!!!! (maybe over-emotional? :unsure: )

so I came home at lunch to find a lovely card from Jan, which set me off again!! It was lovely though

I can't get the new Snow Patrol song "Chasing Cars" out of my head at the moment since the lyrics just seem to describe my relationship with my recently departed whippet Merlin and it brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it. Perhaps it would strike a chord with you too doris? Obviously you don't get the full effect without the music, but I used to spend a lot of time lying with Merlin in a sunny spot and the two of us would doze for a while together. I've been remembering those times a lot recently.

funny, I was sad yesterday cos Devon doesn't lie on the grass with me like Sunny did, and Genie and Zoe just lie on me! I said to Wayne that I missed stoking him while we stretched out on the grass, sounds just like you did with Merlin

we've already got our sad Snow Patrol song, Run

Wayne's aunt Mary died of cancer last year, she decided against treatment because it wouldn't save her and she wanted to enjoy the time she had left. She carried on drinking guiness and smoking right up to the surprise party she went to the night before she died

We saw Snow Patrol play Run at Live8 the day after her funeral and we both just sat on the grass crying our eyes out! Guess they just hit the spot

Anyway, feel so much better today, just a few tears - for the first time today I told someone that I've got 3 dogs, then made them feel bad cos I welled up and they didn't know why :b

still, life goes on - I'm going to sit in the garden with Devon, Genie and Zoe while they munch on pigs ears :thumbsup:

I've been thinking about getting a tattoo for a while, and as it was a week yesterday since we had our Sunny put to sleep, I finally decided last night (while drunk at a party! ) that I'd like a little sun on my shoulder - or maybe a sillouette (sp!!!!) of a running dog

I saw Sunny in my dreams last night for the first time, he was either saying hello or good bye and he looked happy, so I guess he likes the idea too ) - any ideas of where I could find a design?
