congrats on your new litter (w00t) im not being nasty or trying to cause an arguement ,but i dont understand this father to daughter breeding thing ,can you explain in simply terms to me what you get from this mating and why you breed so close  as to me i would think its not a good thing to breed so close, ok i dont know diddly squat about breeding so close ext but il be interested for you to put you story throu on why you did this mating and what you hope to achieve ,and any down falls to breeding so close i mean what are the health risk or deformitys (if any ) from doing this .ooo yes can we have some puppy pics now please :- "

the only reason i put rosie back to her dad is the line i want is not around anymore its the old charmol mactavih lines my mum is he only person i know who has got the lines also its double kaymark barbie doll lines who died last year my rosie is an out cross one line tawly the othere kaymark i would not have mated her to her dad if i could have found another dog with those line i also know there are no problems on those lines to me if you are going to line breed if the line you like is a clear line its ok to line breed but if you know of any problems on a line then you dont line breed i will put a pedigree up of rosies pups i will be doing the pics of rosies boys tomorrow if you have any thing you want to know just ask and i will get back

ok thanks for that i can see your reasons ,still doesnt make it right in my eyes but hey ho your dogs :) its all very confusing this breeding lark i suppose the only one of my dogs i took any notice of what was in her breeding was my tia as i wanted a bitch with welsh breeding in her and thats what i waited for and got ,and in next year i hope to put my blue to her as i think they will have gorguse babies and ther temperaments are outstanding both of them ,im thinking is this a good enough reason to put my blue to tia ,i mean i love them havent achieved anything with them really but i want a pup that is is fathered mothered by them both am i wrong for doing this am i being selfish :sweating:

I hope you dont mind me asking but what did Barbie Doll die of as she was not an old bitch was she?

Just interested.

Others may disagree but I believe there is a difference in line breeding and inbreeding.

My take on it is Inbreeding is using parents on offspring and in some cases using grandfather. Line breeding is picking a line which compliments for that particular mating.

Ok I will wait for the flack now. :- "

i just want to ask, you did this breeding to bring back lines, that i guess you intened to carry on, as you have a litter of boys does that mean you will repeat this breeding? or will the lines carry on with the boys?

the other thing is you said its double kaymark barbie doll lines does this mean these pups will be quadruple kaymark barbie doll lines?

i know you said that you know the lines do not have any health problems, but if you are inbreeding this much surely it will create problems??

sorry i dont mean to be rude, im just interested, although i dont agree with you extreamly close line breeding, i am starting to understand the reason for doing it.

last question, i looked up kaymark barbie doll and couldnt find anything much about her, was she a big champion and this is why you want her in the lines?

Barbie Doll is featured on TWA site.......

Can I ask was this the only dog you could find with Charmoll Mac Tavish behind him & in what generation? Look forward to the pedigree............

I seem to have typed this name out quite a few times already when adding to my file for working out COI and so far i've only been entering generations back for my own dogs

Mactavish does feature in quite a few pedigree's, a dog of the early 70's & is in the 5th generation of my 10 year olds.
