Latest update ...............abscess is no more :x :x :x :x :x I had one go at it with boiled salt water to no avail, but I think it did the trick as when we got in from the shops, it had opened. It was one of the most stinky jobs I have had to do, squeezing this lump till all the goo came out :x and was made all the worse by Blue hating every second of it and getting quite feisty with her teeth.

She is now fast asleep after a bowl of chicken soup and a ham wrapped pain killer, with a gauze pad bandaged to her tummy. Lets just hope the vet is happier with her tomorrow

Thinking of you girl. Why is it that everytime you seem to get a step in front, somethihing always knocks you two back.I would just like to say, that prayer is a very powerful thing .(Believe me i know). So dont give up on the wee girl,as there are a few going up from over here too. These abscesses seem to pop their ugly heads up from time to time ,and scare the whatevers out of us,but hopefully thets all it is ,and come thursday you'l be in better form when the wee brindle boy takes youre house by storm,as he's a header. Will say one for Blue later, and stay of the stress pil's. ....Billy...

PS. Did you get the DVD.

Hiya Peony

Sorry Blu's poorly. Just wondered how come the vet didn't lance the abscess for you? I'd of thought they'd want to get the infection out and draining rather than put you through the unpleasant experience. She should feel much better in herself now though as it shouldn't be as painful plus the fact her body hasn't got to fight the presumably large amount of infection that was there so I would hope that this will help her recover a little. Fingers crossed now that the vet can find out the cause and get her on the road to recovery. :luck: :luck: :luck:

poor girl, hope it starts to clear up for her now and there's nothing more sinister lurking, :luck: :luck: :huggles:

Poor girl, hope she's feeling better :luck: :luck: :luck:

:luck: to Blu - hope she is soon back fitting fit. She needs to get better to keep that new pup in check! Zair sends his love to you all. :huggles:

Only just read this. How awful. Poor little girl and poor you, I do so hope that the vet is getting more positive.

Hi all !!!

hope you all had a great christmas and a new year without too many headaches (w00t)

Ok.... the little Blu one had a fantastic christmas spent beating up archer most of the time...

she is back to her old self.. full fo beans and generally acting like a 6 yr old again..

of the abscess all there is is a slightly polished bit of skin.

The vet is of the assumption that she was trodden on (Flora being prime suspect) and this caused a piece of her lump to break off and cause the absess.

she is under the knife in a couple of months so they are hoping to sort it then.

ALL MY LOVE AND HUGS to all the people who offered kinds words of advice and support.. Blu is my first dog and although we been together so long its still not going to be easy when the times comes which I know it will as she is 16 this year

but for now.. she remains an object d'art called "Tanglemess"
