Sally - Bitch Dog In Season

midlanderkeith said:
She's in season now, and moulting like the clappers, just look at it

Gosh Keith, reminds me of the days when we had our cocker spaniel. No escaping the hair at all. We loved him to bits but seeing that photo certainly makes me glad we went for whippets.

We love her to bits also, but she's more for my lady than me, its bloody horrendous at times, but would never part with her, a dog is for life yes

Ah, dear of her

I know the feeling - my white GSD produces enough moult to stuff a quilt with (w00t)

We have the same with Zoe ,Keith so she is OH's dog but guess who has to groom her. She is moulting like mad at the moment. I could make lovly soft beds for the others with it .I leave it outside andthe birds love to collect it

That's a lot of hair (w00t)

My old Musky seems to shed huge amounts of hair all the time. Someone recommended a grooming tool called a Furminator and I have to say it's fantastic, it's halved the amount of time it takes to groom him.

Ive just had her outside and give her a good grooming, now if you remember a few weeks back, jill copped for fleas so i spent a small fortune on stuff from my local dog grooming parlour for both my dogs, now on inspecting the brush i groom sally with i found what look to me like mites, i can only describe them like tiny little beatles, sorry best i can do, what if anything can i do until i can get to the vets,

Sounds like they may be ticks? They start off really tiny and once they've lodged on they grow :x

I'd get some Frontline Spot-On from your vet (or local farm shop) - that does fleas, ticks and mites.

I do all mine with it and never have any bother

In the meantime, if they were ticks, you'll probably have got rid of most of them by grooming Sally

you can get frontline online aswell, cheaper than the vets, free delivery don't kow the web addy but if you google "nutrecare" you should find it... there's all sorts on there!!
