lets hope these little beauties find their forever home soon

 (w00t) look at those little cuties :huggles:

il have the one on the far left and the one on the far right

they are just beautiful, hope they won't be long before getting a good home each, BTW are Saluki's like whippets in temperament or not at all ?

They are just    I have alway's liked the look of saluki's. I often wondered if they were of a similar nature to the Afghan hound. We had an afghan when I was little and he was mental :- "

ive just looked on the web site, some are already reserved :huggles:

but mum is a real stunner

Mum and pups are gorgeous and there is an adult

male a couple of pages later as well.

I dont think they will be there for long :luck:

I am absolutely appalled that these Saluki pups are being described as 'ideal family pets'.

I think they are a wonderful breed, but only in the right hands, and some people would find their strong chase instinct and independant, aloof nature quite difficult to handle. The Saluki Welfare site says this 'The Saluki is a dog for those understanding what they are taking on. Those desiring 'normal' dog habits should opt for a Labrador, Collie or German Shepherd. The Saluki can be a contrast of both ease and difficulty in ownership.'

Why on earth didn't the RSPCA sign these over to Saluki Welfare to rehome carefully! I forsee a lot of these poor pups being returned over the next year. :(

Totally agree - I thought exactly the same. Salukis do not necessarily make ideal family pets. They are lovely dogs  but they do really need to be in appropriate homes, where people are knowledgeable about the breed. They would have been much better placed with Saluki Rescue.

Oh dear :( Could the saluki rescue be informed?? Maybe they could then take it from there. Would be terrible for an 8 week old pup to have an opportunity to have a forever home and not get it due to... well almost false advertising  It would be such a shame.

Hi All

I believe northern saluki club have been informed, though it might help if more people informed them

Oh my goodness :( They are just beautiful, I would have mum in an instant.

Bless their cotton socks... I'm sure the rest of the un-reserved pups will be snapped up soon. :luck: :luck:

My friend has salukis and they are so aloof one day we will see them and they are all over you the next they don't want to know you. They are also quite stubborn. I know when she free runs hers she prefers to do it in a secure field as they can disappear on their own although they do return after 10 or 15 minutes. They tend to be loyal to one person too

Awwwwwwwwwww the poor loves,i hope they do get the right homes, people who had or got hounds, they are a lovely breed but need to be owned by the right sort of people.

did any of you contact the RSPCA and Saluki welfare to try to get them to cooperate on homing these salukis?

sometimes when I see dogs of particular breeds (especially whippets and whippet crosses as that's "my" breed) listed in Irish rescue pages I suggest to the people that they try to rehome these dogs via a breed rescue club.

I saw all the pups + the mum on the website - everyone of them is gorgeous. Quite a few have been reserved/booked but I hope, like others have said here, that they are adopted by knowledgeable owners!

Because they can get more money for pedigrees and use them for publicsity( sp) Salukis area breed apart . The breeder of them should be banned from breeding any more litters , I wonder if the owner of the stud dog knows too?

What beautiful dogs  I really hope they find the right owners, to see them in and out of rescue centers when they could have a good shot at life from a young age seems such a bloomin waste. :luck: to all of them.
