Last month I posted pics of Ben & Rufus in the snow, now in complete contrast it's t-shirt weather here 8) .Gotta love the British weather!

So I thought it was about time to get Rufus used to going into the sea instead of just barking at it for having the barefaced cheek to be wet!

The plan was to get Ben in the sea long enough for Rufus to become curious enough to go find out what he's up to.

He paced up and down the water's edge

poked around at the water a bit

even had a bit of a paddle

all the while grumbling to himself in frustration.

The clincher came courtesy of Ben who swam over to some rocks cut off from the shore by a few metres of deeper water

where he proceeded to sniff around and look thoroughly pleased to be there.

Rufus, infuriated and envious beyond belief, gave out several petulant barks and strode into the water

but when the ground underneath him disappeared he beat a hasty retreat

After that he was at least brave enough to wade rather than paddle, which is progress in my book :) .

Meanwhile Ben, who had the same attitude to the sea this time last year that Rufus has now, simply enjoyed being the comitted sea beastie that he has become :D

Two beautiful dogs having a great time. They go so well together, one jet black, the other a beautiful red and the sea and the lighting set them off wonderfully.

Well done Rufus for being brave enough to wade. He'll get there I'm sure!
