hi our grey we have rehomed has bald thighs, what,if anything can be done/given to clear it up.we are planning to take her to a dog show soon, but it looks pretty horrible, dont want people to think she`s being mis-treated.

Alopcia in greyhounds is fairly common so I don't suppose anyone will think she's mistreated

In some dogs it comes and goes to a greater or lesser extent, in others once the hair has gone that's it, and yet in others it sometimes corrects itself. Most of the Greyhounds I see in rescue have this :(

It could possibly get better over the next few months :))

No-one seems to really know what causes it.

She sounds lovely. Good luck at the show :(

Some racing dogs get "bald thigh syndrome" ......... When they stop racing the thigh hair often grows back .......Kelp powder added daily to her food will help :) ........ Can I ask what colour she is please ?? ......... Hannah :)

I give Tiny kelp and also use liverine unction, it works very well on him.
