Hello everyone!

I have a 9-year-old white English Bull Terrier who has been struggling with allergies. For the past six months, she's developed really sore paws. I've tried a variety of treatments. The vets have prescribed four rounds of antibiotics, but when those didn’t help, she was given two courses of steroids. While the steroids provide temporary relief, her paws become sore again just a week later.

After every walk, I soak her paws in Chlorhexidine, dry them thoroughly, and apply ointment to the affected areas. Despite my efforts, there hasn’t been any improvement, and I’m feeling quite lost. The vet did take a swab of the sore spots, which confirmed a bacterial infection.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Someone I know found her dog's allergies improved using colostrum.

If it's contact allergy on his paws, would he wear boots?

Oh I will have to have a look into that!
I’ve just ordered some boots for her to wear on walks just waiting for them to be delivered, fingers crossed she will get on with them
Thankyou!

Apologies for getting her gender wrong. Please do let us know how you get on.

That’s fine! No problem at all, I didn't really make it clear in the first post.
I will do, thankyou so much
