the dogs are loving this snow & we've been in the park every day but I've noticed Scrumpys back feet are looking sore. She is a very skinny lurcher & has no fat on her at all. Her middle 2 toes on her back feet go pink then bright red. This morning they almost looked as tho they were bleeding & the redness was spreading up her legs
Once I get her home & give them a good towelling dry they look fine again, it doesn't seem to bother her when she's running around but they just look so sore. Could she get frostbite in her little toes?
I've thought of getting boots for her but don't think she'd like them & they probably wouldn't stay on once she starts chasing around. It does seem a bit extreme to be putting boots on a dog anyway.
I don't want to have to leave her at home cos she does really have a good time & she has to go out at some time & the snow looks like it's here to stay for a while.
Has anyone else's dogs been affected like this?
