Fynny cleared on the bend today. His adoptive parents are dead proud

He took a couple of gos to get going but when he did, ran his little sox off

Yep thanks for a great day and the puppy lure. 8)

everyone is asleep here....apart from Lucas who is going mental as he slept most of the day :huggles:

Fab pictures again Lloyd -although I'm obviously biased I think the shot of Star on the lure is fantastic - mind you so is the one of her running  Did you manage to get any of Archie & Fynn  ?

Star's VICTORY ROLL is the shot of the day....made me smile as it was the mirror image of Archie............What is it with team fawn whoppet??????????????

They are lush (even though Archie is a puppy eater (and a baby dove eater (w00t) ))

Right....as i am waiting for my passport...do i have to get Hannah to add the curve clearing on there later ??

And cause Tilly was consitant and came 4th in the three races (out of 4 runners :- " ) will she get any points?...when do you get points? How are points added? do you only get points at opens? :sweating:

I'll sign her off when you get her passport  ........As for points, she would have had 3 from yesterday (4 points for 1st, 3 points for 2nd, 3 points for 3rd and 1 point for 4th each race), but due to being 1 of 12 runners we only counted the top 8 ..........so it would end up ..........

1st ......Chimes at Midnight ...12 points

2nd......Gambler Girl .....11 points

3rd.......Exmoor Gold .....10 points

4th ...... Monkey Business /Star Strike Little Hustler both had 9 points, but to split the placing Monkey Business had a heat win  (confusing stuff lol)

SOOO now these 4 end up going onto our club dogs spread sheet and will now get their CLUB points for the MAIN .........So 1st place 4 points etc .........These point will be added up at the end of the year for top dog/bitch etc .....trophies ......but these are only for our club dogs .........NOW the next 4 ......

The next 4 will get consolation points that will go towards cons dog/bitch etc......

Sooo .....

5th ........Star Strike Little Hustler = 4 cons points

6th ........Stars Strike Black = 3 cons points

7th.........Hey Presto = 2 cons points

8th ........Millie = 1 cons point

The last 4 racers yesterday end up with no points towards the end of year trophys .......I think that just about covers it lol

As for Tilly having last all day, I cleared her as I have seen her over take and be over taken in the past, plus she was up there with other dogs and shes honest and sound, so shes fine

I haven't got a clue how it all works either????? I thought you got 4 for a win. I agree Kim, it is very confuddling and I believe all clubs run a different point system.

Now these points are club points, nothing to do with Superstars or Whippet Top ten points............Now I think we need a Judy to explain that to us, or any-one who doesn't mind

 Well I'd hate to disapoint you so here goes -

Superstars

1 for a heat win, nothing for a quarter, 2 for a semi win. Then in the final first gets 6, second gets 5, third gets 4 and fourth gets 3. Nothing for supremes.

Top Ten

1 for a heat win, 1 for a quarter, 1 for a semi. In the Final it goes 6,4,3,2 from first to fourth place.

2 points for a supreme win.

No Superstars or Top Ten points for Maiden groups.

Simple

Don't worry Kim, it is all experience.

The dogs you are put against can make a world of difference. Both you and I were in the bottom 3/4 with ours, but I really wouldn't expect our youngsters to out-perform open-class more experienced whippets. It all helps them to learn and I see it as a challenge for when they get to run in an Open, Fynny had to fight hard on Sunday.............Good, let him see it isn't a walk-over.

My little baby won a heat at Andover in the Maiden, but placed against fast dogs in the club, at his age and experience, he would be slaughtered. Never let it be forgotten that bend racing is a new discipline too. They run the best they can, and learn new skills each time they go out.

Enjoy it, don't sweat the position, be glad you have a dog who is clean and has the spirit to enjoy the race...............My belief is every dog has it's day (I think Fynn might have already had his :- " ) Never mind, the social aspect is the fun part, having a fast dog is a wonderful bonus. Look at Judy's stats to see the chances of that happening :- " I hope you get to go to Moreton, we'll have a laugh, and that's all it is about.Nice if you can win, but great to be around like-minded people with a love for their dogs.just enjoy 8) and a few wines to wash it all down

To be honest although it would be good to have a dog which won occasionally, i enjoy the day, watching Tilly run her heart out, learning new things and the people :huggles:

That what i get out of racing

(Posted on the Kennel Cough thread, and asked if you were there, sorry to many names and faces, and then different ones on here  ..... what is the chances of Tilly catching it??)
