I think you out of order ray first yes scale did look like they weight 4 oz heavy but it was same for all dog I see this before in different scales but slag people off who are organising the event free of charge I personlly have enjoy the day. Scales efected one of my dogs but other was ok there was a bookmaker. Having the crack take. A few bets after he see a few run but all thinks don't run smooth but to slate south. Region you out of order I think you regrent saying that ray

It wasn't the same for all dogs Lyndon, yes they were all weighed on the same scales but that extra 4oz added by the scales being incorrect didn't tip them all over the 4oz allowance.

she was 18lb 3oz mark said on is scales on there she was 18lb 7oz on thurrock club scales so what scales do you go on my bitch was 30lb s oz on my scales but trouble is you got to go my there scales best thing in future if you know there scales weight heavy bring bitch in at dead weight I will in future

I can understand people being upset having got thier dogs to the correct weight traveling hundreds of miles only to have scales that are not spot on then having to run in a higher weight class --

even though i pressume you ran --

i think you if knew they were wrong you could have pulled out and made it clear to those running the event why!!!!!!!

it is not same for all depends if your 17lb-12ozs 0r 18lb -2ozs---

that is why i always carried stamped weights issued by weights and measures dept with me--to check my own scales --if my scales are wrong i knew by how much exactly--

then you can have the offical ones checked if need be---

not a good idea to be using bad language and slagging off people after the event even though i have been guilty of it in the past --

draw a line under it and dont waste all that energy on something that has gone--and cant be changed --to late!!!

I can only presume Friggsy chose to run his dog because even though he weighed out and ran 1lb heavier he was still in the same class. Ours meant she'd be in a different class and that's why we didn't run.

Thankgod for that, someone understands.

It's not a case of sour grapes & just the racers moaning here. Numerous members involved in running the open agreed the scales were out, the organisers chose to do nothing about it even though they knew.

I have no interest in carrying this on, i just hope for other racers sakes that the organisers have learnt a lesson here.

Not a very nice statement to make but, can understand the frustration of it all, and "4 oz " will make a difference to a dogs weight group and after working your dog to its peak performance for a special race only to be told you are in a diff weight group can be and is quite maddening and off putting........ surely a spare set of scales would have been the answer???
