when i was at school if we ever had a sponcership event all parents were invited and if you couldnt make it then you would be told how your kids did after it, and if they were giving our a certificate for doing it everyone who took part would get one.

is this the way they still do do it?

the reason im asking is that Zoe's nursery gave out a litter and attatched had a sponcership form saying they were going to take part in a sponcered obsitcal course for money to buy new garden toys.

fair enough i though zoe got £30 of pledged sponcer and the day came and went for them to do this obstical course, with nothing said from the teachers, not invite, no mention of how they did, no mention for the kids.

but a week later there a notice up asking for the money??

now i didnt want to have to ask the people who sponcered her to give me the money as if i had sponcered someone i would want to know how they did, and i dont have that info.

anyway iv been waiting for the last 2 weeks for one of the teachers to ask me, when yesterday zoe came home quite upset :(

she said that I had to give her teacher money so she could get an invitation????

what invitation???

she said Harrys mum gave the teacher money and he got an invitation,

so i asked harrys mum and she said it was a certificate for doing this sponcered obstical course. and the only people who had brought in sponcers were getting them. now forgive me if i am wrong but i am now fumming

zoe now thinks to get a cetificate i have to pay for it, and why shouldnt she think that if thats the way they are going to present them, "well done for collecting money" when it should be "well done for completing the course"

please let me know if im wrong as i am going to have words with the teacher today as i am so ticked of about the way this has been handled.

for all i know they havnt even done the course??

Nursery School  That's no way to treat pre-schoolers - we don't do sponsered events at our schol but if we did, even if the parents weren't present there would be plenty of photographs of said event - I'd expect parents to be needed at nursery to help out - What does Zoe say about the obstacle course - can she tell you anything about it? I'd tell the nursery how you feel so it doesn't happen again

she hasnt said a thing about it, and its been 2 weeks since they aparently did it, shes only 3 she doesnt remember what we did yesterday let alone 2weeks ago.

im going in at 11.15am to have a word but its been so long since i was at school im just wondering if they have changed who they do it and im going to make a fool of myslef, Harrys mum agreed with me but then she gave them the money so i feel a bit like im on my own and maybe should just pay up and shut up :(

but i really think its not fair that im being pushed to give them money so zoe doesnt feel left out and so she can have a certificate that she doesnt even know what its really for :(

Don't go in all guns blazing - ask them about it and point out that it is very difficult for you to collect sponsorship from people when you have no proof ie a certificate/photo of the activity.

Point out that they need to be better with their communication

:sweating: :sweating: im stressing big time i hate having to do stuff like this :sweating:

shall try my best not to shout (or cry) lol

At the playschool where I work, we recently did a sponsored walk around the village. Most of the parents came along to help too. We had several stopoff points i.e the local hairdressers, the church and the pub (where we had a snack) and at each stopoff they had a sponsor card stamped by the relevant person, i.e the vicar or the garage mechanic and got a sticker.

It was almost a community event. (w00t) The children really felt that they had achieved something with their completed card and it was something to show the sponsors as proof of that achievement.

I would definitely have a quite word with the supervisor, perhaps it just hadn't been thought through properly

I would say something. When my wee girl did a sponsored singalong all the parents were invited along to join in - think we had more fun than the kids!
