thought id share this with you as its really touched me and restored some of my faith in human beings ,i went to cardiff today just for a nosey around and as i pulled up in the car park i seen a homless guy sitting on the pavement in th pooring rain with a black labradore cross dog ,as i walked closer and came towards him i saw that he had a hooded jumper on and his coat was wrapped around the dog :( this made me feel so sad ,so i walked up to him and asked him if him and his dog was hungy and would like me to get him somthing to eat and he replied im not bothered about myself mrs but if you could get somthing for my dog that would be very kind of you :( what a selfless person to think of his dog before himself i was really touched he was not only willing to get get soaked through and sit ther nearly freezing and hungry as long as his dog was fed and warm ,so i popped around the corner and got 3pasties and a cup of tea for them and went back to my car to get my brolly and wow and behold before even thinking of himself started to hand feed his dog two of the pasties id just got him and then eat the last one himself ,so i asked if he would be ther same day next week ,and he said iv no were else to go so yes ,so i told him to make shure hes there as il make his dog a waterproof coat and i also have a nearly new puffa coat in the house ifhe could use it he was very gratfull and said he would be ther next week ,i so hope he is cause i was so touched by the way he cared for his dog i was nearly in tears :( it makes me so angry that some people have to live like this :(

awwwww, nicky what a sad story. :( we see beggars in our town centre playing music and they all have a dog with them i often wonder what happens to their dogs on a cold night though tbh the ones i see are always well cared for and have a bed to snuggle up in while its master plays music for money.good on you for helping this man and his dog. :) i so hope hes there next week when you go back with a coat for his dog.fingers crossed :luck:

Well done Nicky. What a nice thought too make the dog a coat. You've made me cry now.

awww nicky, what a lovely thing to do, i dont imagine that poor man gets much kindness passing his way, that really was a lovely thing to do :huggles:

and what a lovely man he was, letting his dog first :huggles:

well done nicky, your a little star :huggles:

WHAT A LOVELY THING TO DO NICKY I BET HIS DOG IS THE ONLY COMFORT HE HAS IN THE WORLD :huggles: SOMETIMES PEOPLE PREFER TO LIVE LIKE THAT.A FEW YEARS AGO THERE WAS AN OLD MAN AND HIS DOG THAT LIVED UNDER A BRIDGE NEAR US.HE WAS OFFERED A FLAT AND COULD TAKE HIS DOG BUT HE WOULD HAVE NONE OF IT.LOTS OF PEOPLE USED TO TAKE THEM THINGS LENNY WAS SORELY MISSED WHEN HE PASSED AWAY. THEY ONLY GOT HIM INTO HOSPITAL AT THE END BECAUSE HE WAS TO ILL TO PUT UP A FIGHT. GOD BLESS HIM HIS DOG DIED BEFORE HIM .HOPE HE IS THERE SO YOU CAN GIVE HIS DOG THE COAT

Nicky, your kindness and humanity to this man and his dog have really moved me, what a kind person you are. o:) They will be so very thrilled to have new warm coats in this rotten weather. Well done you :huggles:

Awwwwwww Nicky what a lovely kind, thoughful thing you have done :huggles: :huggles: Very heartwarming thing to do.You have such a loving, kind nature................i wish more people were more like you  in this big wide world!!

aww thanks for your kind words guys ,im shure you all would have done the same ,i see a lot of homless people when i go to cardiff once a week and most are openly begging and although i dont have a lot of money myself i will give all the change i have in me pocket and i know some of them prob just do it to get booze or drugs ,but ther are some out ther who truley have no place else to go other than the ymca or hostles that are dotted around ,i rember talking to one once before and asked why he came out to beg instead of staying in,in the warmth of a hostel hes said that ther are some nasty people in these places and can be cruel places at times and he would rather take his chances on the street :( so sad to think that people have to live like this ,this guy and his dog i really felt for as the guy looked like hed just lost the will to live and by looks of it the only thing keeping him going is his beloved dog :( SO GUYS PLEASE SPARE A THOU OR GIVE A FEW PENNYS OR EVEN GO IN AND BUY THE FOOD YOURSELF TO HELP some of these people ,some of these people really are hungry and cold all things we take for granted :( im really hoping this guy is still ther when i go as i thinks he deserves a bit of help and hopefully il try help him out all i can ,even if its only food and warmth for him and his dog :huggles:

I could,nt agree more Nicky, there are alot of homeless peeps out there and its not their fault due to losing their homes etc,i wish people would give these people more chance and give them somewhere to live.Look at all these places that are boarded up  Why can,t they do these places up and give these homeless peeps a place to live instead of spending money on crap and put humans first

you no what really gets to me is our goverment is so quick to give handouts to other countries in need ,yet they need to be sorting out ther own people and country first dont ya think

nicky makes my blood boil when i know what the prisoners get

Nicky you are a STAR :D

I do think it is a good idea to do as you did, and buy food, drink etc rather than give money. the cheats won't be attracted to begging then, and you can be sure what you give is needed.

Well done

Pauline

I do admire what you did for this man and his dog Nicky. I think a lot of people look at folk who are on the street as if they aren't even human any more. It's so much easier to look the other way - good for you for not looking the other way.
