Go on ebay and punch in Chocolate Patterdale at stud and up it comes, also puppies I think. How disgusting is that?

They will get took off, your not allowed to have

animals on E-bay......thank goodness

I've reported it...accidently with my sons account...but I've reported it

They obviously haven't read the rules, but the damage may have been done.

Plus the dog is not even a year old! It shows a picture of him at Christmas 2008 when he was 7 and a half months old. Moron. I've also reported it. Tempted to send the 'seller' a PM also, frankly.

EDIT: I did send a PM. I'm not usually one for contfrontation, but I really couldn't ignore it. Whether it was right or wrong to have done so.

Well done!

such a shame poor wee dog, hes only a baby,

have reported it to ebay, they are usually pretty quick with things like this, thankfully

What a moron. Just shows you how poor dogs fall into the wrong hands and become open game

Oh heck, that is all we need, puppies and dogs on Ebay... they'll not be on there long

Well done to everyone who has reported it though

I had a response to my PM and the person in question sounds like they actually do have the dog's best interest at heart, they've just gone about this the wrong way round. Instead of doing their research and biding their time they've gone ahead full throttle because they've had loads of interest locally from farmers and are trying to spread the word about their dog. They are inexperienced and are basically trying to run before they can walk. I suggested that they join some terrier forums and have a good look in the breeding sections, then wait til he's older and has proven himself at working.

Judging by the amount of people who have said they contacted them they must be a bit shocked by the response especially as they apparently did it in all innocence. I know people slate Epupz but better to advertise there than the Free ads, Loot or Preloved (supposedly a site to sell second hand goods so why advertise animals  )

I got a very rude email back from him, told me basically to sod off!!!!!!!! My friend who also emailed was told to go off and save the whales, plus other stuff, so much for him not knowing what he was doing.

He will be in for a shock when he finds out you cannot make money out of an un-proven dog.

Unfortunately he probably will make money.

Forgot to add I saw an advert for a Dog "for Rent" as a stud dog on one website. What picture does that conjure up?

Do you think this is the result of the 'credit crunch' people thinking it is an easy way to make a little cash, when you think about it some breeder charge anywhere up to £500 a mating. Well, one mating a week cash in hand, not a bad living, DUH!!!!!!!!! If that is what they believe they are in for a shock.

I guess maybe there are some people who would buy a pedigree dog puppy as opposed to a bitch, figuring that they can always offer him for stud to help pay for his initial cost or get some pocket money. They also don't have to deal with the difficult (and expensive) aspects of breeding such as maintaining a pregnant bitch, whelping and raising a litter if they go for a dog. Which is pretty sad.

Credit crunch or not, I expect there are always people who will exploit having a male puppy in that way. But perhaps as you say, there will be a few more instances in the next year or so.

Don't you think you are over reacting, its an add for a stud dog. Not a child for sale.

Sorry, this dog is still a puppy! That is what is wrong.

As far as I know advertising of livestock in any form is against Ebay policy. It's certainly not allowed on K9, so I have removed offending posts
