dear gods did she scream, poor baby. her foot is still quite swollen but its better than it was before. we was just about to go the park too so she didnt even get a walk today :(

bee stings arent very pleasant :( :huggles: :huggles: to dana.

poor you,ive got a phobia with bees and wasps, so hope im never in that circumstance. well done ,least you got it off her  .hope she is better soon.

piriton does the trick  and yes do they scream

awwww poor baby. :( if you go to the poundland in town theyve got an anti bee/wasp sting kit in there.i was going to get one but i got sidetracked.also i thought it would be handy for jac to have in her first aid kit she takes to the dog track when shes racing in case anyones dog gets stung.ill get one next time i go.hope shes feeling better now hun

Awww poor Dana...sending her :huggles:

Inca's allergic to bee/wasp stings and I panic if she chases them or I find one in the house...I have an injection I've to give her if she gets stung :(

dana sends thanks for the hugs guys, she is fast asleep up my shirt at the mo and she is walking alot better on in now.

trish and graham - ive got a phobia of them too and an alergy to bee stings....good job i love her

kris - cheers for that i will have a look in town tomorrow, i just doused it in vinigar and that seemed to help her

Hope Dana has recovered well. If you are into homeopathy then Apis Mel. is very good for stings. Hebe disturbed a bees nest last year & got stung a few times. She was swiping at the side of her face & ear but half an hour later after a dose of apis & a dousing of Aloe Vera spray was 100% again.

Glad Dana is feeling a bit better :huggles: :huggles: the trouble with bees is they are so big if mine spot one they try to catch it (w00t) :clown: :sweating: luckily they never have

As the bee sting is visible try putting some ice on it wrapped in a towel. I am always paranoid with bees and wasps now.

The last sting Beau got was whilst we were on holiday he was sniffing in the grass and accidentally found a hornets nest. The sting was way down in his ear. My poor boy did suffer with that.

Hope she is feeling better soon. Make sure she get plenty of TLC, although I am sure you will get plenty of reminders there.

Best wishes

hey guys, dana is back to her normal self today and has had an extra long walk to make up for the lost one yesterday. bless her she met her dad at the front door with her paw raised and limping you could see she was so playing for sympathy.

one of my old dobie girls used to do that!she used to walk (limp) past the patio doors so you could see her limping, then shed turn round and walk past the other way limping with the other foot! :- " what a character! :D

We took in a Dobe rescue many years ago. Was meant to just be fostering her BUT just somehow never found a good enough home so after producing 3 pups a week after we took her she stayed till the end of her days. :)

She was a buggar for nicking your chair the minute you got up & no matter what you could not get her off till you got really stern with her & then SUDDENLY she acquired this dreadful limp! (w00t)

Would slither off your chair with the hump big time & woefully limp to a corner to glare at you, next minute if there was a sniff of food hey ho limp suddenly forgotten :- "

She was a real character :D

sneaky little beggars aint they! mine always used to pinch my seat when i got up as they liked the warmth! :D i had one old girl who used to kidnap pups and nuzzle them and try to feed them!bless her!

You can say that again, i thought Whippies were sneaky BUT.......... (w00t)

We had 3 rescues over the years the oldest we took on was approx 9 & she had a fetish for teddy bears

She would steal them from my bedroom & line them all up in her bed & lie on them nursing them, she had been used as a breeding machine & just couldnt get used to not having babies any more, she would carry these damn teddys around everywhere with her.

When the IG's came along she was in 7th heaven, she'd nurse them & suck their ears till they were soggy, she was the sweetest soul & loved everyone :)

so do i.its the first time in over 30 years ive been without one. :( but our jac whippets more than make up for it! (w00t) :- "
