Yesterday, you couldnt see my dog, the grass was so long gently blowing in warm summer winds  today cos of the heavy overnight rains, its a pleasure to walk on, and walk on we did, even though its slatting it down here in toby jug county, bugger it, and orft out we jolly well went

Lol great pics! Shes soaking!

It has poured down all weekend here, had a few sunny spells lasting 5 minutes or so each.

So much for a summer

god keith how do you do it, its only drizzling up here and my 2 wont even step out the frount door  :huggles:

It looks much worse on here!!!!!!!!!!

You should be keeping Jill dry, she is carrying a special bundle you know! I am beginning to get webbed feet with all this water around.

:- "

You won't get Jesse out in the rain, he hates it.

Sonia and Jesse xx

Jill is a hardy type isn't she, bless her.

I must be getting soft in my old age. I went to the park Sunday morning and stood under the canopy of a large beech tree whilst my two had a quick wander round , only darting out with the poo bags when necessary, and off we went back home.

There was a time I'd set off for a day's walk in the hills with Fred, no matter what the weather was. :- "

We're like you, Keith - out and about whatever the weather  - nothing stops us except gale force winds blowing the rain straight in your face! :p

Im an outdoors type of person, go out in all weathers with my dog, day or night, many a night when ive logged off from this forum i go out with Jill, im fortunate to be able to do so cos ive retired, i dont neccasarily go out with the intentions of working her, but its the freedom i love, the wildlife i love to sit and watch, the rains and winds in my face at the moment jill is sat at the back door whimpering to go out, its pissing down, she dunna care, and as long as we keep on the move which we do, she's enjoys herself, and so do i just watching her, im just having a sarnie, then we are off out, life is for living i say, get out there if you can

There's no greater pleasure than going out for a long walk with your dog, no matter what the weather. I'm with you on that one Keith

I'm kind of looking forward to having a younger whippet again one day, but wouldn't part with Fred for the world either. We managed a short hill walk on Saturday, but he was very tired by the end of it, a bit unsteady and he was limping again, so we obviously over did it.

Sorry...I feel very frustrated at the moment. It's just not the same taking Stanley out on his own. :(

You will have to excuse my ignorance here Nicola, but i thought you had 2 dogs, perhaps you could enlighten me, ive enjoyed reading your outings and pictures, please do not get frustrated, theres always puppies out there whenever you are ready, in the meantime, good luck with Fed,

You’re correct Keith. I do have the two dogs. I’m just trying to accept the fact that Fred can no longer accompany me on my longer, country walks. Stan is quite happy to come along, but somehow it just doesn’t feel the same without Fred. I feel guilty leaving him on his own at home and I often don’t have the heart to go out for those long walks by myself (but with Stan) without him. Another puppy isn’t really an option just now.

Take no notice of me. I’m committing the cardinal sin of feeling sorry for myself and Fred. I’ll have to look into getting a doggie rucksack for him! :D

Lovely photos of Jill btw  .

And yet again more rain, so her mumsy says she's to wear her coat today

think herself lucky im not making her wear the little hat ive made up for her to go with it (w00t)

Here she is running off home, come back ya silly bugger we havent had our walk yet

I don't blame her, it is so wet, any self respecting whippet is tucked up under a blanket snoozing until the rain clears, if it ever does! Mine are -_-

go on keith let us see the hat.........

managed a quick dash out today with my 2 Bailey dunna care but Ruby's a princess and she doesn't do rain
