Maybe it isn't the smartest thing ive done in my life but nevermind if your saying that you can't see anybody wanting something with no "yet" quailtys there wont be anything to worry about will there! I have taken your advice and removed the add. Taking responsible ownership seriously! as for pickle had a quote for her being scanned today and might pop her along to the vets tonight fingers crossed! :luck:

Fingers crossed that the scan shows there are no pups there! :luck:

All this amazes me. It is so wrong to advertise an under year old dog at stud, a crossbreed at that. It is so irresponsible. I sincerely hope Pickle is not in whelp.
See bertha! Is really doesn't take alot to apologise or admit your wrong on a public forum! Some how you seem to think it's so hard!

Good call to remove the add. It's not that people won't be interested - it's that the wrong sort of people will be interested and would then probably breed the pups to make money for themselves. Much better not to have it on your conscience! Fingers crossed that Pickle isn't in a pickle ;) :luck:

Thanks! let's pray to god she's not in pup! :luck:  :luck:

Just because you have an entire dog doesn't mean it has to be a 'stud' dog. My dog is entire because of veterinary advice, I never intend to use him at stud, he is a pet first and foremost. Does he feel he is missing out? No, I doubt it very much because he is never put in that position. I stood, just last week, and held a conversation with a fellow dog walker who had a Beddie bitch who was in season. It's about responsibility first and foremost, I have no doubt that had we let them off leash together then they would have done 'what comes naturally', as it was he accepted being asked to 'sit and wait' regardless of the 'scent' distraction. I totally agree with what has been said though, there are too many unwanted dogs in this country to knowingly breed unwanted litters. I hope all is well with your girl.

 Well said. I think anyone who is thinking about breeding needs to take a look at rescues such as Many Tears Rescue, Lurcher Link, Retired Greyhound Trust, Dogs Trust, Jerry Green Rescue (local to me) and the hundreds of other dog rescue centres up and down the country, not to mention Freeads, Preloved etc to make them stop and think about all those unwanted dogs and whether it really is sensible to produce another litter of puppies, some of whom may also end up in rescue.

No it's not sensible and it's selfish which is why ive removed the add and have both my dogs booked in to be neutered!

well done you on taking on a responsible attitude, i wish more folk would do the same then the rescue centres wouldnt all be struggling to cope :(

I know that in my heart it's the best thing to do. Just sometimes a selfish puppified moment overwhelms you! ;)

 You have made a good decision and I'm sure in the long run you will feel it was the best choice for you and your lovely dogs.

I wasn't 'having a go' at you in my comment though - just a generalisation - so no offence was intended. :) I do spend too long looking at rescue sites wishing I could home just one, but OH says 3 is our maximum, so I will have to wait.

So glad you have decided to spay and neuter your dogs, its the responsible thing to do
