hows the little man doing?  :sweating:
He is gaining weight , but still not suckling. He is being hand fed by syringe. His breeders took him to a vet to let him decide if he is viable or not & the vet is happy with him. We are pretty worried about a pup that doesn't suckle though. We've never encountered one of ours that won't. Mind you we've never had more than seven pup's.

has he no suckling reflex at all?i mean does he not try to suckle when you touch his cheek with your finger?ive never come across that before but it doesnt bode well for the little chap :luck: :luck: :luck:

Give him time & keep up the hand feeding by syringe. Also if you can get some puppy life line into him its wonderful stuff.

I had one one that weighed just 4oz & the vet said she wouldnt make it, she wasnt suckling, so i hand fed her ..............................she is now 7 years old :)

Lots of luck with the little chap :luck: :luck: :luck:

i guess as long as he is eating then he has a good chance. sounds like there is hope to from what other people are saying. keep us posted. all the pups are so gorgeous, i would be spoilt for choice.

 You must be so proud - stunning little pups - hope the little one keeps going strong :luck: Congratulations on your gorgeous new additions

Or better still than syringe feeding would be to tube feed him, then there is no chance of any milk going into his lungs and causing pneumonia. My friend who breeds Cockers successfully reared a puppy with a small hole in the palate this way. Once the pup was old enough to be operated on, the hole was then repaired, and you wouldn't have known any difference between her and her siblings. Your Vet would be able to supply the tube and show you how to intubate into the stomach in the first instance. Might be worth a go.

Lovely looking litter .....I'd go with tube feeding the little lad as well ......I did it with an orphaned kitten ..... :luck:

They aren't our pups they are bred by Geoff & Janis Mack (Hotfeet). They were just sired by our dog. We haven't had the time to breed for 6 years & it must be nearly as long since one of our dog's sired a litter. I suppose this & the size of the litter is what's upped our interest in these pup's.

Got some more pic's today. Little blue & white pup died about a week ago. Seems a shame but 9 pups is more than enough I suppose.
