Week 7 of The Apprentice

Sometimes all you wish for really does come true, the two Jennys are gone. What an episode, not perhaps the tasks, but the boardroom was brilliant. When I saw how Surallan engineered the team make-up I just knew it was going to be a cracker. Margaret and Nick ( I know that Margaret and I could be friends, she is so my kind of person ) had matching outfits - well jackets anyway, nice touch that (w00t)

Their mistakes were so basic, how difficult is it to read and follow instructions, especially when there is more than one person participating, why do they never ask of each other 'is this right, can you just check it for me', especially when so much depends on it for them. Jenny (red lips, not red haired) had the opportunity to nail this and see Jenny Redhead and Michael fired, but she let herself lose control and she had to go. I think Surallan was a lot more forgiving of Michael than I would have been, there are still plenty of youngsters out there who have the capabilities Surallan is looking for but you'll find most of them running market stalls not taking Classic degrees at university.

There was a down-side, how I wish I could have seen Rafe in his linen suit.

Jenny (Sparky's mum has left the building)

I loved last nights episode - five of the most anoying people all on the losing team, then not one but two got fired, brilliant :D

we were all glued to this last night.tbh i thought surallan was gonna sack the lot of them. (w00t) how difficult is it to read and follow instructions?absolutely pathetic!when the others at the beginning were asking jenny what her plan of action was she said oh we'll just go to the souk and walk around and get a feel for the place. HELLO!!!!youre not on holiday here dear, youre here to work!wasnt surprised when jenny offered the restringing guy in the racquet shop a bribe not to have the other teams racquet done in time.was a bit surprised when she said she thought surallan would congratulate her on her initiative!!! (w00t)

claire kept interfering in the bargaining and at one point they all agreed to let alex do the bargaining and everyone else keep out.and what did she do?jumped in every 5 mins and kept ruining his negotiating.i wanted to throttle her.we were sat here shouting at the screen shut up claire!!!

loved the after show party or as its better known 'the apprentice, youre fired' on bbc2.they really tore into jenny and said what a bitch she had been with everyone.quote of the night belonged to vanessa feltz who after talking about a rather dishy man said wrap him up and send him to my tent! :D

quote of the night in 'the apprentice' was margarets rather terse summation of edinburgh university when nick said of one of the contestants, well hes not stupid hes studied at edinburgh and margaret witheringly said well obviously edinburghs not what it was! ;)

shes becoming quite a star that woman.surallan will have to watch out she doesnt steal the show!

well!the big question this week is this.did margaret buy a glitter thong from lee? (w00t)

poor sara went tonight, though i think all of them should have gone as none of them really performed well.im surprised that surallan let michael stay(he of the overwhelming charm and personality) :- "he was on his way out and he pleaded to be given a second chance and surallan agreed.despite his better judgement.are we seeing a chink in the armour here? he did say its the first time hes ever done this and tbh i think it was an error of judgement maybe its cos hes a nice jewish boy?

i think claire is coming on stronger in this now,lee did well last night charming all the brides to be into buying his sexy undies and lucinda did a good job again as team leader.shes not noisy and brash and that why i think shes been overlooked but shes smart and she gets the job done.hubs has liked her from the beginning and hes a pretty good judge of character and people.rafe in that teddy suit has to be a highlight of this series so far!

I may be going mad here, but I've kinda taken to Lucinda  Michael (Jewish, but not so Jewish) should deffo have gone last night. I'm wondering what surallan sees in him. He lies every week, but he's still there

Well, Well, Well, Michael lives to fight another day, his time will come and I sincerely hope he gets a right mauling when it does. The thought of him faking passion takes some imagining. (w00t)

Just shows what happens when all the nice people (I'm including Clurr here  ) get put together, they took a risk, but quite a decent one really, on the expensive dresses, people do go overboard at weddings that's for sure. They also ensured that one pair saw all the dresses, so fundamental, you can't compare with what you haven't seen. They then had the upper hand when it came to securing the accessories. Well Done you lot.

The other group were always going to struggle, personally I would have gone with the larger size dresses  , coloured dresses and cup-cakes on a stand will always appeal to the minority rather than the majority.

Would you have bought a cake from Michael? I wouldn't have bought a doughnut off him, he's such a waste of space, Margaret and Nick have the measure of him, what's Surallan playing at.

My quote of the week was Rafe when he said something to the effect that people who buy 16-32 dresses do so because they eat cake.

I love Lucinda, she doddles about, but when you see her in her Project Manager role she looks the real deal.

Jenny

The last 2/3 standing will be the best applicants for telly not business its about annoyiny personalities and keeping the likes of us watching and viewers watch to see sparks fly not someone who is a talented sales/management person

well durrr,of course thats what its about.otherwise they wouldnt have made a tv program about it, surallan would have just interviewed some kids and given one a job, end of.this way its much more fun especially when you see some talentless muppet who thinks theyre the best thing to hit the business world since richard branson and watch them getting a reality check.

I'm totally hooked on this now, it took me a couple of series to get into it but now I can't miss it.

I've still not really warmed to any of this lot tho :( but Lee did make me smile last night when he was selling knickers :b

Rafe was obviously not comfortable in his teddy bear suit. He even still had his hands clasped behind his back the same as always

Michael is a slimeball.

Lucinda has an annoying whining voice.

I'd have to kill Claire if I spent longer than an hour, no, make that half an hour, with her.

I agree that Margaret is fast becoming a comic genius, she'll have her own show soon

Who d'ya think will get fired tonight??? I hope surallan finally gets rid of Michael - he's lucky to have lasted this long - although the clips of his little victory dances are hillarious - as is his ego (w00t)

Roll on nine o'clock :D

I think it will be Alex tonight :(

Fingers crossed it's Michael though!! :p

well, well, well!surprise surprise as Cilla would say!poor old Raef has left the building people. i was gobsmacked last night. how that prat Michael has got away with it again is totally beyond me.what was surallan thinking of?Michael told surallan that he was responsible for all the good things that he liked in the advert.how bigheaded and self deluded is he? (w00t) most of the audience in ' the apprentice youre fired' thought that Raef shouldnt have been fired either.i also thought that Raefs teams ad was far better than the opposing sides ad.though why they needed the tv weather girl Sian to do it is also a question that will never be answered.(maybe raef's got the hots for her?) ;)

all in all another disappointing performance again from this lot.i just live to see Margarets raised eyebrows and Nicks funny looks now.they speak volumes without saying a word! best comedy duo since morecambe and wise! ;)

Just watched it on i-player because they were watching football last night. Well poor Raef has gone and Michael Soppyface lives to fight another week. I have to agree it was a pretty poor advert, what was it they were selling- children's school uniform, the other ad wasn't much better but at least we knew it was referring to tissues. By the way I like the idea of a box of tissues being called Snot and could also live with one being called Bogies, it would trip off the tongue in Boots "Can I have a box of Bogies please" but 'I Love My Tissue', give us break.

Surallan is quite right when he says that if they don't like something then they should say, it amazed me that Clurr didn't wade in a bit more last night, she needs to take her lead from Lucinda-Beret, who leaves them in no doubt that she thinks they have got it wrong and more often than not she is right.

Alex and Lee I find a bit disappointing. Lee should have prepared his pitch, got it right and then stuck to it, he is so like a bull in a china shop. Lucinda-Beret is articulate and would have coped much better, in-fact on her own she would have coped much better, they didn't really win, the other team lost.

I haven't a clue who will win, but as Kris says the real winners are Margaret and Nick. I'm going to write to Surallan and ask if he can produce a Margaret and Nick calander next year featuring all their little quirky expressions. It can be the job for whoever wins The Apprentice to produce it, what do you think folks, shall I ring Frances and ask if she can put me through to Surallan.

Jenny

oh yes please!we'll buy some!i think theyd fly out!

as for clurr i think shes backed down quite a bit since surallan gave her a gpood talking to in the boardroom and since then yes she has taken on board what he said and shes listened more to other people and is trying so hard to be nice and to be liked but i think i prefer the abrasive clurr.it made for a more interesting program! ;) is it just me or does anyone else see some of a budding 'the badger' in her?lucinda did go on a bit last night(well yes she did have good reason!)i think alex and lee were trying to cut her out of a lot of the action last night, they didnt listen to her and thought she was just being negative, she wasnt she was right!the tissue box was crap, the ad was crap, the whole campaign was crap and she knew it.they were so busy self congratulating themselves that they couldnt see what she was trying to point out to them.did anyone else see the look of disbelief on the faces of the 'winning'team last night?they couldnt believe theyd won!so funny seeing their expressions!

as for the tissues called snot i can remember on my daughters 18th birthday and she was given a pint of 'snot' to drink! (w00t) it was very popular at the time!

as for the men watching footy put your foot down and tell them whats what! ;)

Well what can I say Michael Soppyface has gone, it was touch and go though, I was sure that Surallan was going to fire Helene, mind he could have got rid of her on the quiet and we would never have known because she doesn't seem to do much. Michael did look half asleep at the beginning of the task, he looked like he had been out on the razzle (no offence to Kris's little dog with the same name). He certainly looked desperate running after the guy in the market.

Now come on LucindaBeret stop letting those two bigger boys gang up on you. Tell them to play nicely. Was there some rule about not taking both cars to the same place, that's what I would have done, then the two 'super salesmen' would have been able to sell both of them and Lucinda would have been able to talk to the nice young men from 'The City'. I'm still not sure about Alex, there's something shifty about him, and Lee well he's such a 'diamond geezer', that I'm not sure about him either.

Clurr is on the up, she's able to sell and Surallan has acknowledged she's a bit 'gobby', so we'll have to see how she comes across at the interview.

It's a shame Michael won't be at the interviews it could have been priceless watching him selling himself.

Jenny

ps Lucinda, I did like your coat

great quote from alex wobblespoon " in my head i know i'm a fantastic sales person" :clown: :clown:

lol!well in my head im a multimillionaire, but unfortunately my accountant says no! :- "

oh dear, michael, michael michael!what will we do now youre gone? ;) this guy was a legend in his own mind, self deluded or what?still hes young and if hes sensible he'll learn from this,(quite a lot too i would imagine!) :- " lucindaberet was shoved out on the sidelines by the lads club again last night,i dont think they realise what talents she brings to bear on their tasks still if they choose to have a 'hey lads hey' club i think it will come back to bite 'em on the bum, they sideline her at their peril.helene is a waste of space, just what exactly has she done so far will someone remind me?if i had to put money on one of them to win id say clurr.she learned from what surallan said to her and shes gutsy and she can sell!yes shes a rough diamond but the edges can be polished, she listens to criticism and acts on it whereas some of them sulk when criticised.shes reminds me a bit of the badger who by the way was on the panel last night in 'the apprentice youre fired'she certainly still calls a spade a spade o:) she told michael that he should have gone 3 weeks ago! :D

cant wait for the interviews next week! :teehee:

So glad that Michael person has gone :- " It was touch and go though wasn't it? If Surallan hadn't gotten rid of him this week, I don't think I could have watched him for another week. He was tired - ahhhhh  Full of excuses, and lies, so he deserved to go
