I had a new bed for the spare room delivered on Monday. Two very nice men duly turned up on my doorstep, started unloading the 6 boxes it all came in, one of them asked where I would like it so I pointed them up the stairs and into the bigger spare room, which is opposite my bedroom.

A couple of the Whips were having a little woof in the kitchen but nothing really loud. Halfway through going up and down stairs one of the chaps said to me

"Your dog is really quiet and well behaved".

As there had been a bit of barking I looked a bit blank for a moment and then realised ................................................................................

...................

he was referring to DESSIE WHIPPET!!!!!

My bedroom door was also open and he had seen her where she lies at the foot of my bed against the wall!!

"Yes" I replied "she's very old now but she always was well behaved" o:) and then laughed. He laughed as well and said she was very life-like!!! ;)

   Well hes still a goog guard dog then :) o:)

I suppose that is the best compliment you could wish for really.

Ours used to behave like that with visitors, couldn't be bothered to lift his head even. Now he's a big, manly whippet, we get a tiny 'woof'.

ah, bless, this gave me a little laugh for you, and feel a little bit sad too :b

Don;t be sad Doris because it made my day and gave me a chuckle but the best part is that I feel so much better since I have had her back home, I can remember the good times now and not just the sad parting. Also I can see her, touch her and talk to her (call me barking I don't care!) and that has done me a power of good!
