Westmead Hawk broke his hock in atrial at Hall Green last night just thought I would let everyone know, he is hopefully going to recover enough to take up stud duties in the future my commiserations to all connections one of the greatest greyhounds to have graced the track what a blow to the sport as I feel everybody felt they owned a little piece of the Hawk.

Heard the news last night... so upsetting. My thoughts & heart go to all concerned with him... We have lost a great greyhound in racing ~ " SIMPLY THE BEST" ~

Hope he lives his retirement in total bliss & we see plenty of little Hawks soon...

that is bad news - even I know the name Westmead Hawk, and what i don't know about greyhound racing would fill several large volumes!

:luck: Surely such a legend must carry on in the form of many wee Hawklings :luck:

That's so sad, hope he gets better soon and can do his stud duties. :(

What a brilliant compilation I was nearly in tears

What a truly amazing dog get well soon little one :'( :'( :'(

A beautiful montage! :'( :'( :'( I really hope he gets better very soon.

My Max broke his wrist on the track - I know it's not as serious as this, but you'd never know he'd done it to look at him now, hopefully this lovely boy will be the same. :luck:

Westmead Hawk's half brother, Bramall Lane is in rescue at Whitelodge (where I got my boys) and he has had a bad accident also. He ripped his leg up in Ireland and has had to have skin grafts etc to mend it.

He is a gorgeous boy, but very nervous. Whitelodge

Wow he was one fantastic dog, couldnt he run. I just loved the way he would come from the back, he really seemed to look after himself so it is such a shame he has been injured.

Best of Luck Hawk, simply the best

so sad for the owners , he is truly amazing! may his legend continue in his future as a stud dog
