Goes back to the vet tomorrow morning mate.Just hope im well enough to get him there,as ive been layed up yesterday and today, with some sort of virous. My chest is caving in mate, and my throat is red raw.I feel very cold, but am sweating bucket's full.Havent had any contact with my new pup since yesterday,as i can't do the dog's myself. This one has realy knocked me off my feet. It's a thing that's doin the round's at the moment, and attack's the chest and throat, but is particularly sore on the lung's.Good job im not a smoker now,or they say it would be a lot worse.Anyway, ive just come on for a few minute's,to check up on big Colt,so thank's for asking afterPyper. Will post the vet's finding's tomorrow night. ...Billy...

good luck tomorrow billy , hope you are well yourself again soon

Just an update on Pyper, for those interested.Took him back to vet's on thursday morning, and after a 2 hour drive was pleased to be told that the leg is looking pretty good.He has had the cast permenantly removed, and replaced by a few layer's of cotton wool bandaging, and vet wrap.He had a bit of foot trouble, that was unseen for a while, owing to the plastercast. But this is now being taken care off, with Synulox 500mg Antibiotic tab's.He is in great form, and was wanting to be back at his old carry on,with the tennis ball's.Show this boy a tennis ball, and he goes bonker's.Soon as he seen them lying on the floor,he was off.Had to be very carefull with him though,so i just let him carry it about in his mouth for a bit,to keep him happy.Anyway,a few pix.

Its amazing how they heal.

I knew a man who lived near us who had a whip/grey which broke both bones in both front legs, the vet had to do bone grafts and it was a long job but when it was over you could not even tell the legs were ever broken. Amazing vet work.

That dog was still going strong at 17yrs

Thankyou for that.Very encouraging.Im hoping he's as good as new.Once the strapping come's off,he'll be getting quite a bit of road work,with his 2 sisters,Trouble and Nikita,or as she get's called.Kita. ...Billy...

very pleased to see that your dog pyper is recovering well. best wishes for the coming year with him :luck:

Pyper goes to the vet in the morning, for what will hopefully be the last time.At the minute there is nothing on the leg,as i had to take it off today, owing to him eating at it,and because when i tried to patch it up,i noticed a bit of an infection still going on in one of his toes. The rest of the foot has healed, and cleaned up well.Im a bit worried about his wrist though,as it's all wobbly, with seemingly no power in the wrist. When he tries to put weight onit,it just seem's to bend backway's,with nothing to stop it.He goes mad around the garden, when he's took out to empty, but doesn't try to use the leg, which is a good thing anyway,(for now).Having had no previous experience with broken wrist's,as it usualy means the parting of the way's,i was wondering if there is anyone else on here who has had any dog's with broken wrist's,and is this powerless wobbly thingy, just summit that will come good, with physiotherapy, like swimming, and that. ...Billy...

Sorry i missed you're post Rew.Im doin Ok,but im just hoping that this leg of his is healing right. Is there any chance of you're mate(WORLD HUNTER'S) sending me a copy of whatever he done with all my lamping footage,as ive never heard from him in month's.I will be doing quite a bit of video work next year,as ive spent this year getting to know a few good ferreting men,who work their dog's n ferret's a couple of time's every week in winter.Ive now gained enough trust from them, that they will let me film, and photograph as much as i want next year.

Would like to see the other stuff that i sent over for him to edit last year though,so that i can trust him with what i will have next year, and hopefully every year there after.... ...Billy...

Great new's from the vet today. He recon's Pyper's leg has turned out pretty good, and should be spot on.Am i happy or what. ...Billy...

great news about pyper  so please for you :)

Have to start physio myself now, with just simply moving the wrist back n forth for a week or so,then when he show's sign's of wanting to use it,i'll take him to the river for a bit of swimming, twice a week.Im lucky in that department,as i can take the car to the riverside, and leave it running,so there will be plenty of heat in it when he come's out the water. ...Billy...
