Terrier: A feisty and energetic group bred to be extremely brave and tough. Used for hunting vermin they would often pursue foxes, badgers and rats below ground. The word terrier is derived from the Latin Terra, meaning earth! Terriers typically have little tolerance for other animals, including dogs.


Examples include: Airedale Terrier, Bull Terrier, Scottish Terrier, West Highland White Terrier, Boarder Terrier and Jack Russell Terrier.
