Thank you OEH, i just cant work out how to resize the pics at all :( :b

In the first pic, Tilly has taken Beans toy, i guess she gave up in the second :D

Love the first picture. What is Bean thinking I wonder. :D

Glad that you've got her and that she has settled in so well.

I too like Bean as a name but then I would wouldn't I. :b Your Bean looks full of mischief and fun. Will you keep in contact with the people who have the bro'. Really nice that several people on here have pups from the same litter as you will be able to watch them grow and develop.

Oh dear the slippery slope. (w00t)

Best Christmas pressie you and Tilly could have was a pup. An such a smasher too. Looking forwards to seeing her in the flesh.

We had a really really really bad night with Bean....she cried the whole night through :(

We have her in a cage next to tillys cage so they can see each other but not touch...she is warm and has water. She is used to being outside all the time....

(i will go look at the help my puppy wont sleep link)

But any advice???

Esme got over it after a few nights of my sleeping downstairs on the sofa and taking her outside when ever she cried. Now we sleep through from 10.30 till 6.30 or 7 with no accidents (Josehine, however spent a large part of last night howling at the moon).

I also found Esme was a lot quieter when I completely covered the cage with a blanket, she really seems to like it in there when its covered.

GOOD LUCK- they sound so pitiful don't they? but they do get over it.

I have to say she is much louder than tilly ever was but then she was 14wks when we got her and she had been crated from the begining.

I can take it but its whether the kids and OH can...... :- "

Emma (16) said to me this morning cant you just chuck her out in the garden :( ....to which i replied i didnt chuck you out when you screamed the place down when you were a baby  ...to which she replied fair point :b

Im sure it will get better soon

Try taking her to bed with you. Once she's settled, you can try the crate again. It's still all very new to her. :)

Logan slept with me for 4 weeks, but on Sunday night I put him in his crate downstairs and left him. After 10 minutes he realised I wasn't going back for him and created, then almost immediately quietened down and slept all night. o:) Last night he was quiet as a mouse. o:) I haven't adjusted quite so well.... :- "

Bean is a smashing pup and obviously she was on her best behaviour the first night!! It will definately get better! My old lurcher as a pup almost drove me to distraction with the constant noise he made and it took several weeks for him to actually settle - Zair our new lurcher pup has been a complete angel in comparison and has slept in his own bed from day one with little noise and no accidents!! Bean is a great name and suits a great little pup - bear with the noise (it is so easy to forget how much such a little dot can make isn't it!)? Best of luck and I hope your family are understanding about her!

I would prefer to keep her out our bed if possible, :b

one option is to crate her with Tilly??

Either she will be quite or Emma (16) may move out....... :- "

You don't have to have her IN your bed, just beside your bed in her crate on a temporary basis. That way she will be comforted by hearing you breathe, and smelling that you're near (not implying that you smell, btw!). If she wimpers you can put a hand down for her to sniff and lick through the bars without actually having to wake up properly. Worked for me, twice over, and both pups were sleeping downstairs quite happily after a settling period of about 3-4 weeks
