It would seem we in the North West are behind the times ----as when i look at this site other regions support---Yes and even congratulate each other---they also seem to appreciate other people achievments attained within their own regions--- maybe it would be a good idea as there will be lots more pups to start next year off with some sort of regional Top Five---dogs and Top five Bitch points ----Just to add that littleXtra --

What are the views of this regions members????

Maybe this could be mentioned at the BWRA-N/W agm if there is time??

steve

Dont suppose there's anything stopping anyone congratulating other regional members, do you mean you want me to start a thread?

How do other regions work the top 5 thing then? thought it worked just off how dogs scored at opens within their region, in that case we only have 2 opens per year in our region, unless someone has some ideas?

Steve's out at the minute-so can't check with him just yet...

I think he might mean something like the 'North East Top Five dogs' Vicky-

as posted by sherry on k9-

I might be wrong

Karen

the north east region get north east points for running and winning in wot is classed as the north east region. the only opens this year that were held in wots classed as the north east region is wallsend and there were 3 i think. shud have been 4 but sadly the jodami was cancelled twice. :( contrary to popular belief dawdon, horden, murton etc r not classed as north east tracks. yes i know it is in the north east but im sure they come under north yorks tracks.

north east tracks:

wallsend rising sun

wallsend bigges maine

westerhope north walbottle

coxlodge

dont really know why ive posted this now lol but we have only had 3 opens so even if u have only had two opens u shud still have your top dogs etc i think :D

im not 100% sure on this but its something like

1 point 4 racing

3 points 4 a heat win

5 points 4 a final

7 points 4 supreme

im just guessing on those but its something like that all i know 4 sure is its 1 point just 4 racing.

for the past few years including this year the members that have won have received trophies. its nice to win something 4 supporting your region all year and its something only your own regions dogs can win. :D

Would be nice if it was workable, to include wins at club level too, *might* encourage people to club race as well as open race, also the people who solely club race could be included in the 'competition'.

yup wallsend bigges maine have a top dog and a top bitch of the year gaining points each saturday.

1 point for running

2 for heat win

6 for final

5 for runner up

the rising sun will do the same this year or something very similar. get a trophy for top dog and top bitch. :D

Thats right Vicky anything that helps to bring more people into the racing will be welcome i would think-and as you say club racing needs something more ---to get the interest back and with Westhoughton running it is a great chance to get it up and running--but thats just my view and is why i thought after bwra meeting whilst those who attend it could be mentioned.

Karen was right i did mean something on the North East lines--as put by Carole..

erm the north east like i said b4 only had 3 opens this year, next year we will be having 4 if we can get the weather 4 the jodami lol north east tracks, wallsend rising sun, wallsend bigges maine, westerhope and dont think they r running now but coxlodge. the only track that has opens is wasllsend rising sun in the north east.

(sorry dawdon, horden and murton r north yorks tracks)

no i dont think so  think easington comes under north yorks too.

yea it does i thouht north east had 1 there thats all must have been wrong

Any ideas on how we could do it then? If we did it off the north west opens alone we would know what'd won our top 5 by July?

Maybe not a good idea after all then Eh ??? Vicky

seemed like it at the time of writting --

steve

our opens finished in july too lol u cud do something along those lines. i dunno wot like maybe instead of having top dog, top bitch etc etc maybe just one prize for the one who gets the most points whether its dog, bitch or scratch? im sure u cud sort something out. :D

I was thinking something along them lines to Carole. Which ever Dog, Bitch and Scratch gets the most top 10 points wins. Maby give more points to members that run at your region opens. May take a bit of time to sort something out but you'll get there.
